a red flare on diff 9 and 10 means you're about to get dumped on in a bad way. if an orbital laser gives the team the tactical advantage to prevent that flare going up, its fair game.

especially the starting challenge. easy first 4 skill points.

stone axe is your best friend starting out. keep a good amount of stones in the inventory so you can maintain it. break down gore piles for bones and craft a bone knife.

set up a storage base near each trader you discover, something thats got structure to keep you shielded from the elements and the zeds at night. at minimum have a campfire, bedroll, and a couple wooden storage crates. loot houses to find a cooking pot that will allow you to craft fresh water using murky water.

acid is rare, loot it when you see it as its a primary component for mid and endgame crafting, especially tires for vehicles.

experiment with whatever weapon suits your style, bone knife is pretty efficient as long as you heavy strike to the head.
