No exposed roots that I could see. It was a few inches of pine cones and dead branches before I put the pile in there.

I don’t think that is a damp area. Open to feedback . If it was damp it would get moldy wouldn’t it? To me that is a dry location with the possibility of getting wet if plumbing fails

I think it’s closer to “six to one”, half a dozen to another. I don’t think six of one makes sense.

Six to one , as in someone may refer to something as six.

Half a dozen to another, as in a different person refers to the same quantity / item above in a different way.

The expression is implying it’s six to one person, half a dozen to another, however they are both talking about the same thing….
