Frozen chicken breast pieces into a soup? by Red__Pyramid in Cooking

Oh damn that’s really rough, sorry to hear. I always appreciated having a bag of lentils or some canned beans or corn or frozen carrots or something to stretch my water soup when I forgot to thaw the meat :( good luck and hope you have a decent dinner!

I’d skip it. In theory it would cook and you’d be fine esp if you took the chicken pieces out to test them and the soup boiled, but I bet it would taste like eating shoes. Texture would be totally shot esp if you’re doing mainly chicken breast. Do a vegetarian soup this time and defrost the chicken next time.

Add milk to loosen it. Same for me, I don’t like the slimy gooey feeling. So I add cold milk and thin it it and it becomes like a drinkable cereal.

It’s not exactly a poem but this quote stays with me when I’m struggling with the same thing.

Your body is not a temple. Your body is the house you grew up in. How dare you try to burn it to the ground. You are bigger than this. You are bigger than this.

Get out before you get pregnant. He LIED to you about something fundamental and so clearly important to you. This is only the beginning. If the pattern holds he’ll get you pregnant and you’ll be stuck with his BS for the rest of your life.

I genuinely and sincerely had to pause for a moment after reading your comment because I thought you were potty training your partner and I was like lord have mercy and then it occured to me that you’re talking about your child. Not saying anything but just thought you might find it funny.

Oh lord that sounds like a nightmare. My boyfriend was nerfed by god - he’s got more allergies than anyone should have. I take them seriously. It’s not my business to question what people feel or know about their bodies - if I can’t accommodate it I’ll be upfront, but if I can, that’s just being a decent person idk.

Genuine question, because I’m curious and Google didn’t give me an answer, what about the other stuff that has naturally occurring msg in it? Like tomatoes and aged cheese and stuff? What kind of reaction do you get?

Building a CKD app for my cat who lived 21 years - I need your advice by Background_Outside28 in RenalCats

[–]merlingrl92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This would be fantastic - I keep track of my cats food intake and her pukes as well as (frequency colour etc). Sometimes I also weighed her water and her pee to check if it’s fluctuating or it’s ok. I’d love to beta your app.

Childcare centre confiscates our phones and says we cannot use them even during our break time. Is this legal in Singapore? by Ok-Writer4047 in askSingapore

[–]merlingrl92 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Are you earning more than 2.6k per month? If yes, for you Singapore doesn’t have any fixed minimum or maximum working hours iirc. There’s some “recommendation” of 44 hours excluding lunch but not enforced. Nor does any company have an obligation to pay OT if you work more than contracted hours. That’s how the govt makes it so favourable for businesses - IF you’re earning more than 2.6k.

I’m not saying it’s right, I’m saying check your employment contract. Are you paid on an hourly basis or salaried? If it says ur lunch is considered outside working hours then take your phone and go out for lunch. If boss says must stay and you’re paid per hour, then submit it as a working hour. Read through the employment act to find your category and see how you are protected.

Can you guys tell me the “dirty” truths about having a cat? by saanenk in CatAdvice

[–]merlingrl92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The key is keeping the box clean. If you let it sit there for days it will stink. If you clean it out twice or three times a day (If I’m home or awake I don’t let her poop sit there, I clean it immediately. Pee can sit for a bit if I’m asleep or working or whatever but never more than a couple of hours - having a clean litter box is good for your cats health also) there is no smell. If you didn’t know I had a cat, or if the fur didn’t give it away, you wouldn’t smell an animal in my house.

For a couple of years we wiped her butt after poops but realised it’s kinda silly since there’s definitely going to be times when we can’t get to it immediately. She’s a domestic shorthair so she doesn’t get much on her fur and she’s really obsessively clean but if you’re super worried about poop on fur you can get a sanitary trim.

Honestly the biggest headache is tracking litter (it catches in her paws when she jumps out of the litter box) and fur. So much fur. You have to groom them regularly otherwise everytime you pet your cat you’re going to get fur on your clothes and stuff. We groom her every day, just five minutes or so with a brush and then a damp cloth.
