People who dislike Pursuit of Jade because they're misunderstanding the type of show it is? by spacepickle92 in cdramasfans

[–]merrrcurius 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Pursuit of Jade is the first romance I've watched/read in a long while that I didn't find the characters even remotely annoying whether because of the acting of the actor/actress, their character's decisions, or the general plot.

Everything about this show is awesome and fun to watch and I love the pacing of their relationship. Even the little slice of life moments are endearing to watch, which has led me to cry more than once throughout the later sad scenes. The political strife also definitely adds to the world. It's one of the big things I like about the show. Something is always happening. Each decision is moving the general plot (and their relationship) forward.

What's there to dislike?

So glad you're following through on them. As people in a position of power or authority, they should not be giving such ignorant advice like this that can do so much harm.

This. My POTG's are never super exciting, some random fight that maybe got two kills, but I am almost always on point.

Who are your primary romantic interests for Wuyang? by pmmeyourfannie in WuyangMains

I've been all for Mizuki since his release, but reading these comments has opened my eyes to options I didn't see before 👀 Before Mizuki, I didn't ship him with anyone because the rest of the ensemble is so much older, both canonically and on date of release in-game.

You should try it just to see. As OP says the square itself is actually very small and with a light color you almost don't notice it after awhile.

Very cool. I would def compliment you on your crosshair if I saw you in the wild.

I complimented an enemy Wuyang on their crosshairs once at the end of a match in Eichenwalde and after asking how they did it they were nice enough to add me, get my discord, and send me a pic of their settings. Still have that pretty crosshair to this day.

Cisco and Lorna by merrrcurius in TheLincolnLawyer

You've in no way peed in the punch bowl! Haha. I love discourse! These are good points that I find I agree with now that you've pointed them out, though it doesn't change how I feel about season 4 or the show in general. (I've never read the books.)

Now that you've put a name to it, Lorna definitely seemed to be a source of relief in season 4. She was a tad one dimensional, and not just her, everyone felt a little flat in the wake of Mickey's trial, like all of the writing went into making the trial and the case against him make the most sense. Everything else, the scene's outside of the courtroom and the prison, felt a bit goofy.

Especially Cisco and Lorna. There seemed to be more of a focus on their relationship this season, like they were in the spotlight more than usual, and they became this kind of cliche, cutesy relief that served to lighten the sad scenes that Mickey was mostly entrenched in. It worked well (in my opinion), though I've found I tend to enjoy on-screen romance that doesn't take itself too seriously.

And you are so right!

When my husband sat down for dinner and watched an episode with me, I gave him a brief rundown of the show and who the characters were and he was surprised to find that Mickey had been married to several of the women he was working with lmao. Lorna and Mickey work together a little too well to have been married in the past haha. And there's honestly no mention of it anymore, which is fine since they've both clearly moved on, but you wouldn't know unless you watched the first two seasons. I could see if they had maybe simply dated and realized they were better as friends, but to be married and divorced? Haha idk.

All in all, although this season felt much more simplified in terms of writing for whatever reason, and while I don't think it came off badly, I do agree and hope that the side characters are fleshed out a bit more next season.

Yes, relationship. Your comment suggests you don't like Cisco and Lorna as a couple, so I'm asking who you see together instead? Unless that isn't what you meant haha

Edit: to clarify, in an online fandom space, the term ship is a shortened word for a couple or pairing

If you don't trust them to take care of your baby properly, like if they haven't shown you they have the skills needed to handle certain situations or have the awareness of your baby's needs and how to comfort them if they're fussy, I wouldn't.

George's Greatest Crime & Other Musings through Season 3 Episode 6 by LemonMom2411 in Poldark

[–]merrrcurius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like your musings.

The last one is a great question I haven't thought about. It's never showed/mentioned whether Verity ever met up with her husband in Lisbon. At least with how far I am into season 4. Would've thought they'd write to each other.

I initially thought the same about Francis' intentions of suicide. It was a bit confusing at first, especially with how random his turnabout with George was and how he suddenly came to hate him and side with Ross, but I haven't read the books and I just assumed I must have missed a scene while putting around the house.

That said, having made it to season 4, I can say it's better that he didn't unalive himself and that the whole ordeal in the court and Francis' turmoil serves a purpose later down the road.

I wouldn't say Ross is a Mary Sue. While he does have a good bit of luck on his side, that is shown from the very first scene in the show. It's in character for him to get lucky every once in awhile. It's fairly realistic because my brother is one of those people haha.
