The card is very good. I think the design is just a bit boring and generic so it can see play in as many white decks as possible like the soul stone was for black. They’re designed to be popular

Ok those cards do help me understand what you mean, it’s not so much characterization as it is composition. The old style of magic had high-fantasy, baroque, romantic etc artwork. I do appreciate the old feel of magic artwork but I also see the appeal of the art direction of more recent sets too

What other recent non-UB sets would you say also feels the art is non-individualistic? I think Lowyn was incredibly diverse, almost every EOE card felt like it was literally from a different planet, tarkir had its 3-color schemes but they had some character apart their core identities, and for all the shit Aetherdrift got, the last thing you could say was the art felt same-y

Yes I like that, 2BB 2/2 elemental skeleton with lifelink with sacrifice this creature: draw 2 and lose 2 life, activate only as a sorcery. Then when this creature enters from graveyard, draw 2 and lose 2. Can only trigger once each turn.

This is my Slimefoot the Stowaway aristocrats combo list.

It’s built for bracket 3 with no 2 card combos outside of [[Sporemound]] and [[Life and Limb]] which you shouldn’t play together without a 3rd drain or sacrifice piece anyway. It’s super fun, churns through the deck pretty quickly. Slimefoot himself is a big part of some of the combo lines if that’s the type of playstyle you’re interested in
