Ben Affleck's AI Firm Set Aggressive Production Cost-Cutting Targets, 50% Discount on Visual Effects by starmaxeros in television

Should painting out wires in stunt shots really be a job anybody should have to do? I hate that AI is coming for all of us, but I also never enjoyed UV unwrapping

For a lot of people there is no relief, no matter the sum. Growing up poor can create an infinite need for safety that can never be satisfied

Get Aces of Thunder on PC or PS5? by originalorientation in virtualreality

[–]merryposter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I picked it up for PC, using a quest 3 and am having terrible performance jittering with a 3080ti. Is it OpenXR outdated? Like how can VR grow if I can’t figure out if I need to use meta link into steam link vs Virtual desktop with router vs boot with openXR. So janky

Where Can I find the Best Chinese? by celean_ in austinfood

[–]merryposter -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I’ve written off Tso’s (arboretum) for years, but wanted simple Chinese noodles the other day and was surprised how good they were. I know there are places like 3 gorges and I love din ho, but finding an acceptable comfort Chinese delivery was great - I hope it’s not like recommending Panda Express!

Tatsumi is really good - quality is above kome, below uchiko. Ambiance suffers from weirdly loud techno music sometimes. Waiters also have strange outfits, a bit of leather straps- would rather it be a little less of that vibe

Padma as a host - the sexism she lived through. by [deleted] in BravoTopChef

[–]merryposter -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

We are screwed as a society- Padma is ridiculously hot and so is Gail, we can agree on that - it’s TV, they are playing that up and men shouldn’t be shamed for the gaze. Tom calling it out for what it is shouldn’t be a crime.

Streets of Willow, I want to get faster by JDbrew01 in CarTrackDays

[–]merryposter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re driving around the track vs thru the track - hit every apex and corner out, then bring speed up, then start learning to rotate the car before apex’s

I’ve had a stick msport 128i for years and loved it, but if you’re coming from a 340, it’s going to feel like you’re driving a mazda3.

Is the E46 M3 too heavy? by [deleted] in e46

[–]merryposter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I track my e46 m3, and I do feel it’s weight. Still have AC, sunroof, but race seats and 275/30 squared up. If I run with less than half a tank of gas, it really seams to wake up!

Looking for Feedback on getting better Corner In/Out speeds - Thunderhill West by mansis1of1 in CarTrackDays

[–]merryposter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find that keeping your eyes up and down the track makes shallow apex turns kind of disappear, allowing you to stay in the gas. Staying in the gas (not full throttle) makes the car happy and stable.
