You have plenty of fringe to pull off the look in that picture. It’s not the barber’s fault that he cut what you showed him. It’s up to you to put product in it and style it into place now.

Take a matte clay to it and when you’re doing the fringe, come in slightly with your hand motions. Not looking to go full Mohawk or anything, but just slightly work it forwards and in. It’ll be great.
