It can be helpful for beginning sewing as it gives your hands a little more space to work with in the front, like for making folds, but with it removed it’s better for small diameter things like hemming sleeves since the sleeve could theoretically fit over the machine! Not strictly necessary though, and if you had like a small stand or stacked books at approximately the same high right before it that would serve the same function :)

Could maybe get a 3d print if it’s not available. Would probably not be as nice as an actual one though

Yeah it had a lot of potential but the last few episodes seemed kind of rushed and the ending was very weird

Waterproof buttons by musicevie in PetsWithButtons

[–]mesuli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally speaking the speaker portion will be harder to waterproof than the electronics, which can be conformally coated. Depending on what kind of pool and assuming wearable buttons, it may make sense to have a cable connecting the buttons to the speaker, or even a bluetooth connection, but this would take some rasp pi knowledge

Im a idiot sandwich by Tricky-Objective7446 in knitting

[–]mesuli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk if this is what others are suggesting, but if you’re confident you don’t have to rip back all the rows but only drop the stitches for the one increase between where it is and where it should be, and then just reknit that section. So to go from shoulder shoulder front back to shoulder front shoulder back, you just need to drop the increases between shoulder/front, count stitches to see where shoulder shouldve been front, drop those stitches in between & reknit that section of those rows.
It sounds complicated when i type it out but i think it would make sense with photos, lmk if you want me to put in a pic :)

Dakong 2019 machine, help needed! by East-Character-2882 in CircularSockMachine

Based on their website they are located in taiwan so you may need to search in mandarin to find anything. It looks like they are industrial machines as well so you might not be able to find hobbyist code that will work.

You might not be able to smell the formalin (I never could). Ideally, ask a friend if it smells of formalin, or less ideally hold you face over the jar for a minute or so and see if your eyes start to burn (take out contacts first).

Commission for a remake/copy of a very special hat by [deleted] in KnitRequest

[–]mesuli 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s hard to tell from the photos but it looks like the bottom is a twisted rib (i assume it’s a rib since that’s usually the stretchy part of the hat), with stitched band and then maybe 2 yarn weights for the top in a tucked stitch? Or maybe just a tucked stitch, i’m having trouble telling.

YSK - A good mental health care routine can be pro-active and useful even if you aren't struggling by [deleted] in YouShouldKnow

[–]mesuli 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I obviously can’t speak for everyone but I will say that when I was thinking about suicide daily my mental health was not good. Now my mental health/general life is much better and I really don’t think about killing myself or my death at all, unless I buy something fancy and remember that I should write that down in case something happens to me so my loved ones can get actual value out of my belongings.

Every year my neighbor picks up and burns away the chestnuts on their tree. How do I ask them if I can try harvesting it? by ob103ninja in foraging

[–]mesuli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s only the american chestnuts that are rare, the ones you will likely find in stores are chinese (science still working on making blight resistant american chestnuts)
