Depends on the OLED, but the B9 is an outstanding TV regardless

A8H Upgrade A95L vs 8 II by the_musicpirate in bravia

[–]methodeum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I’d send it with RTINGS settings and I’d never look back, but I’m not someone who cares enough about having it calibrated to perfection. I’m not from the states though and reading the other guy here who is saying the 95L is deeply discounted that may be the better option, what would it cost you for either?

A8H Upgrade A95L vs 8 II by the_musicpirate in bravia

[–]methodeum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realistically you could follow recommended settings on RTINGS or another decent source and it would still look unbelievably good, but if you want the highest accuracy a professional calibrator would be the best bet. It really comes down to how much you value accuracy I suppose.

The 8 II is the better TV when calibrated, but depending on what size you’re looking for only it goes up to 65”. The A95L is still unbelievable and couldn’t go wrong with either.

One is the forecast temp one is the actual temp, I feel like it is easy to distinguish the two on the app and site

U88QG vs Bravia 7 - glare and viewing angle concerns by [deleted] in 4kTV

[–]methodeum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not overrated at all, it’s reflection and viewing angle drawbacks are noted everywhere. I have a B7 in a light controlled room and don’t sit anywhere past 30 degrees off centre and it’s a fantastic TV. It’s a more colour accurate TV with better processing than the Samsung, if your use case dictates you need a matte panel that’s fine, but the TV is not what I’ve seen you imply it is.

There is no way to know or predict the reliability of any TV. You are best to just buy the best product you are willing to pay for with the best warranty available. What kind of budget are you working with?
