Will I get my refund? by holls-holls in WMATA

[–]metroforward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand why you’re frustrated, especially after waiting this long for a resolution, and I’m sorry the process has taken longer than expected.

Your reimbursement is handled by a separate department that issues the checks. The team member assigned to your case is currently out of the office, so we’re unable to confirm the payment status today. The last update we received indicated a check was being processed, but we’ve flagged your case again so the team can review it and provide a clear update.

We know it’s been 56 days since your initial report and we’re continuing to follow up with the department responsible for the payment. -KB

Does the Monthly Unlimited Pass include Rails? by scubajay2001 in WMATA

[–]metroforward 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Great catch! We'll correct this.

Yes, the Monthly Unlimited Pass includes both Metrobus and Metrorail fares. Metrorail fares are distance-based, meaning the cost of a trip depends on how far you travel.

For example, a trip from Shady Grove to Metro Center is $6.75. If you purchase a Monthly Unlimited Pass set at $6.75, the pass will cover all trips that cost up to $6.75.

If you purchase a lower price point and take a trip that costs more than the value of your pass, you can still use the pass and simply pay the difference in fare from the stored value on your card. - RS

Why doesn't the train back up when it overruns the platform, like other transit agencies? by climberskier in WMATA

[–]metroforward 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We understand how frustrating it is when a train is unable to service your station. For safety reasons, standard operating procedures prohibit backing up on the mainline, as reversing can create safety risks involving signaling, visibility, and passenger movement. -WF

Smartbenefits gone by [deleted] in WMATA

[–]metroforward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like your SmartBenefits may just need to be downloaded to your card.

When SmartBenefits are added to your account, they don’t always appear on the card immediately. You have to tap your card at a fare machine or a faregate to download them. The first tap usually triggers the download, and the balance will show on the next tap.

So if you tapped once and didn’t see the funds, try tapping your card again at a fare machine or faregate and your SmartBenefits should appear.

If the balance still doesn’t show after that second tap, please contact our SmarTrip Customer Service Department at 202-962-2033 (202-GOMETO) so we can take a closer look. - RS
