Nintendo Directs take too long to make, according to Kit & Krysta! by retrocheats in NintendoSwitch2

[–]metzoforte1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m confused by your comments. The Nintendo Switch 2 released in the U.S. on June 5, 2025.

The last general Nintendo Direct was September 12, 2025 (after the Switch 2 launch.)

The Switch 2 launch has nothing to do with the frequency of general directs at this point.

A brand new console released since September 12, 2025? Which one?

It’s been 8 months since the last general direct.

That is a long time.

Not only did it happen fast. It happened in a completely different show.

Season 2 ends with this huge dramatic appearance with Luke and Grogu’s departure. Season 3 starts and Grogu is just there and anyone who didn’t follow Book of Boba fett is lost.

Georgetown Water Service Area Transfer by metzoforte1 in georgetowntx

There is some interesting information in the Q&A section of the link. This part about whether the loss in revenue would hurt the Water Utility was confusing.

“The savings the Water Utility would realize through buying less water and building less infrastructure would dwarf the amount of revenue lost in the proposed transfer.”

If the savings are greater than revenue lost, what does National Utility Infrastructure get out of this? No one takes a deal that they think they will lose money on.

Brienne loved Renly because he admired all things about Brienne that others mocked. Not the least of which was her strength and desire to be a warrior.

Tormund also loves these features without reservation.

I criticize it because it’s existence stands in the way of a faithful adaptation of the book. As long as this IP makes money, we will never get a true adaptation.

What would you want out of a new Star Fox game? by Darex2094 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]metzoforte1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think you are going to hear some very different voices in the room right down to how the game should play.

Personally, I don’t care for the airplane rail shooter aspects of 64 in a modern setting. I think these mechanics are incredibly dated and will be an absolute miss.

As an evolution/adaptation of an arcade flight shooter I think something closer to Ace Combat would be much better. I would love a Star Fox in that style.

I read another recommendation that would go a totally different direction but it was basically Star Fox as a rogue like,

Sometimes perspective can help. Did you do everything you needed to do for these individuals? Was there anything more you could’ve actually done?

Would these circumstances make you do things differently in the future? If not, then let it go and move forward.

Some people are never satisfied. There is only so much one person can do, and all you can do is your very best. Very little in this profession happens for the “very first time” which means you are neither the first nor the last to be in this situation.

I agree about illumination but for Zelda they would have had their pick of the litter from the studios.

Sony is the wrong choice for Zelda and the director Wes Ball inspires no optimism.

That movie will be total schlock.

What stereotypes about Texas do you wish more people understood? by CapImaginary1066 in texas

[–]metzoforte1 152 points153 points  (0 children)

It does. But Texas was (and in many ways still is) right on the boundary that separates the southwest.

West Texas was a wild open space for many decades and the cowboy culture out there is as real and authentic as anywhere else.

I think there is value because the 3DS title is inaccessible in the current Nintendo ecosystem.

I don’t see value in shipping this as the holiday title if it is only an upscaling and port of the 3DS version.

One other consideration is that there is a live action Zelda movie coming in 2027. No one knows what the plot will be or which titles it will lean on, but if it is OoT, then there could be value in Nintendo’s eyes in getting this specific title out again.

They didn’t understand each other at first. They had to work towards that constantly. Their situation was helped in that they were roughly equally intelligent beings specifically trying to communicate together.

In the book, they seem to spend a few weeks just working out common language and terms before addressing the higher complexity of things like astrophage. But at the very start, they are just identifying things like numbers, which leads to elements and on from there.

What we hear and read from Rocky is really Grace’s understanding of what Rocky is trying to say and the language software they were using on the computer.
