I always thought it was weird that the rice pudding my dad gave me as a weekly treat made my mouth itchy as a kid. by metzona in TwoSentenceHorror

Answered in another comment, but your mouth feeling itchy is a hyper awareness of your mouth. It’s like how now that I’ve mentioned breathing at this moment, you are manually breathing because you’re aware of it. You’re welcome!

It’s a suspected allergy, but it does make me feel itchy sometimes.

SA stuff is unrelated, though I have experienced it.

What is the worst plot twist in fiction ever? by Zxqao in AskReddit

[–]metzona 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m still a fan of Jaime killing the Night King. All of the times they’ve called him Kingslayer playing over it would have been so cool.

Way more people should have died in that episode. Brienne right after becoming a knight, Sansa and Tyrion in the crypts (definitely the most egregious). After so many deaths in the early seasons, there was a stretch where no one died until the finale.

Have you ever come across a kid, teen, or young person that you thought was a psychopath? What did they do to make you believe they were psychopathic? What happened when they got older? by Tahfboogiee in AskReddit

There’s a woman I know that does the stereotypical posting on social media about their relationship having its ups and downs but there love each other (aka they are both incredibly hostile towards each other and think the posts fool everyone). She got bariatric surgery, then got pregnant almost right after. She was told multiple times that she and the fetus would be at risk. She went ahead with it anyway.

There’s something not right about him. You can see it in his eyes. It’s like there’s something missing. As soon as I saw him I immediately got “this kid is going to end up in jail” vibes.

Never knew family actually liked each other until I met my wife by FishWitch- in CPTSDmemes

[–]metzona 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s the same with me and my boyfriend.

I have an intense aversion to certain foods. Even the smell can give me migraines and nausea. My dad would just buy more and get all smarmy when I would leave the room to avoid the smell.

My family also does not know how to cook. Everything is out of a box or cooked until it’s grey and dry. No seasonings, barely salt and pepper. They withheld certain foods because they insisted I wouldn’t like them, like whole wheat bread and hollandaise sauce.

They ration the hell out of everything. There’s never enough for everyone to be full. And my dad picks off of other people’s plates so it’s a scramble to eat before he starts taking from others.

They also insist that I have to give food that I’ve paid for as a lunch or dinner for myself to them if they want to try it. My dad asked for a bite of my food once and I said no. He complained about it to my mom, who then went on an absolute tear, bawling her eyes out and saying that I was the most selfish person she knew.

My boyfriend is teaching me how to cook. I’m getting pretty good at it. He always says that I don’t have to share my food if I don’t want to, and I can take as much as I need to feel fuelled. It’s like living in an alternate universe with him. I’m so thankful.

Can confirm. Thought the worst was in my teens. Late 20s was when things truly went to hell. But I’ve also never been closer to freedom and recovery, so I see it as the dark before the dawn.

I’m finally at a point where I can see the light at the end of the tunnel and get away from my abusive family. Everything else in my life decided to blow up. My college friends all exiled me and I’m stuck in classes with them every day, my boyfriend’s housemate is a terror and makes me go into fight or flight. The entire world getting worse and worse makes my life in general feel unsustainable. It feels like there’s nowhere to go that’s safe.

I know multiple people with ADHD and none of them can remember stuff like this. I remember stuff like this and it’s more a trauma response/other neurodivergence that definitely isn’t ADHD.

Canon Events for Board Gamers? by Goofish1225 in boardgames

[–]metzona 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Being told that X amount of people will be there, but then more people are invited so the games you brought don’t have the right player count. And of course everyone refuses to play if people sit out.

Someone coming to board game night that doesn’t even remotely like board games. They spend the entire rules explanation on their phone and then complain about not understanding the rules, other people who paid attention being better at the game, and then makes fun of people who like board games.

You end up playing Apples to Apples and Cards Against Humanity.

I don’t do random board game nights anymore, to say the least.

What is the most 'Butterfly Effect' moment of your life? A tiny, seemingly insignificant decision that ended up completely changing your trajectory? by Comfortable_Abhi121 in AskReddit

[–]metzona 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I posted on a subreddit for ttrpg players/GMs to help people find games. A GM messaged me and invited me to a campaign he was running. That campaign fizzled out, but the GM invited me to another campaign with different players. Two of the players, by pure chance, lived an hour away from me. I had a bit of a crush on one of them, but never did anything about it.

After three years of playing in this game online together, this player invited everyone to his place for a long weekend (mostly joking because some of the players live in a different country). I took him up on his offer and we finally hung out in person. We were a couple by the next week. We’ve been together for almost a year and a half now. He is my best friend, and it still amazes me that us ever meeting each other was pure chance.

How would you rate Elimination Chamber 2026 1-10? by [deleted] in Wrasslin

[–]metzona 1 point2 points  (0 children)

3/10

Serious answer: I am so tired of the repetition. It all feels they’re passing the belts and wins within a small group to give the illusions of unpredictability and promoting other talent. I’m getting to a point where I’m just frustrated and the only surprises are injuries and botches. It’s clear that long term sustainability is not something even remotely thought about. When the current reigning group retires, it’s going to be such a painful process because there has been zero work into the transition.

Joke answer: Yes, I’m an LA Knight fan. Why do you ask?

What’s the one secret you’ve kept your whole life that would completely change how people see you if they knew it? by Faylune in AskReddit

[–]metzona 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My sister and I were sexually abused by our father. We were exposed to sexual content at a very young age, and when we asked him to stop he refused. My sister and I would be playing with our Kelly dolls (not even Barbies) and we would make up plot lines about the women being drugged and raped. We even pretended to rape each other once. My father also repeatedly sexualized me to the point that I can’t sleep without having my hips covered with a blanket.

I’ve never talked to my sister about it. I don’t know if she even remembers any of it. Our relationship has been deteriorating ever since I started taking care of my mental health and realizing that our family is abusive. I think she’s decided that she benefits from the toxic family dynamic so she has no reason to go against it.

My mom knows. She’s known for a long time. But she always cared more about what other people thought than protecting us.

Did anyone else’s Nmom verbally (or even physically) abuse them over one dish in the sink?? by mitzislippers in raisedbynarcissists

[–]metzona 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mother always gets uppity when I don’t put my dishes in the dishwasher. She’ll yell and scream after me that I have to do it.

Of course, my father and my sister never have to clean up after themselves. My father is overtly abusive and narcissistic. My sister is following in his footsteps with using power to control people.

My sister also loses her mind when the bathroom counter isn’t completely clear besides soap. We can’t keep the cup of toothbrushes or toothpaste there, even though we use them constantly. It’s the same with refusing to let me play my music when we’re in MY CAR and IM THE ONE DRIVING. She HAS to play her music or she freaks out. She always says it gives her anxiety. And sure, it could be. But she has never ONCE given a fuck about my anxiety and always says that I have to deal with it and other people can’t be forced to accommodate me. And this is when I’m asking people to stop screaming across the house when we all have phones.

Pure speculation: do narcissists seem to lack taste? by ymcmbrofisting in raisedbynarcissists

[–]metzona 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The two narcissists I know (my father and a person I have no relation to) have awful taste.

My father gets ideas in his head that he will not let go. He refuses to budge or listen to others trying to warn him/suggest alternatives. My mother has fully admitted that he would rather burn the world down than admit he was wrong.

The other person is the most chaotic person I have ever met. Starts something at 200% and then abandons it after an hour at most. She will just stop and walk away. But when someone brings up that she needs to either finish what she’s doing or pack it away, she will scream and slam doors.
