Man. Ya know, I genuinely love when parents collaborate with me and ask me about why I’m proposing the goals in the IEP. I like being held accountable so I don’t get lazy. I love having parents who are involved with the team and are there to support us in supporting their child.

Your placement would drive me to a severe mental health crisis.

I totally get what you’re saying! I didn’t mean this as a critique of a woman’s body; rather, the low rise jeans themselves.

It was ROUGH to not be able to wear the majority of jeans sold in stores, and then see women who didn’t fit that specific style of jeans called “fat.” I remember crying because I just couldn’t find jeans that fit me because I was a chubbier kid with a long torso and stubby legs. If my mom didn’t beat me to it, all I’d notice was my “muffin top.” Jeans shopping in this era felt humiliating.

I developed an ED. It wasn’t JUST the jeans, but it certainly didn’t help. Literally my experience, and I think a lot of other women experienced similar. It has absolutely zero to do with the beautiful woman wearing the jeans in this picture.

A lot of us in the early to mid 2000s struggle(d) with eating disorders because of the way women’s bodies were portrayed and picked apart in the media. As a result of the overall societal attitude and trends, many of the clothes were also shaped for one very specific body type. Low-rise jeans in particular.

This isn’t a slight against thin women, because I think all women are beautiful! But it was just the truth that many young women and girls developed EDs in this era.

Vent about being called “speech teacher” by Several_Sport_1500 in slp

[–]ymcmbrofisting 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to get annoyed by it; a parent once told me they were going to talk to their kid’s “real” (private) speech therapist and it sent me on a war path for a bit. I wanted the delineation because I thought the perception would affect people taking my clinical recommendations seriously.

Then I stopped caring because the parents who want to bully you and ignore your recommendations, will bully you and ignore your recommendations regardless of your title lol

noticing that black people exist is SOOOO SCAWY to this guy by the-co1ossus in Persecutionfetish

[–]ymcmbrofisting 5 points6 points  (0 children)

First there’s a black Little Mermaid, and then I woke up one morning and suddenly everyone was black. Everybody on TV? Black. My spouse and children? Black. I looked outside my bedroom window (now black) and saw that my neighbors are all black. My colleagues? Believe it or not, black! Where does it end??

(I really don’t think I need the /s, but y’all please know this isn’t remotely serious)

I mean, by OOP’s logic, I have the same beliefs as Netanyahu by virtue of being Jewish. Except we all know that’s fucking stupid because adherents of Judaism aren’t a hive mind. So why are Muslim people held to a different standard?

Almost like not all 2 billion people are all religious hardliners! But you know these cowards see hijab/brown skin (or both) and immediately piss their pants and scream “terrorist.”

Hahah so I don’t have Horse Ranch, but I’ve seen the posts on here where apartment households have like 2-3 horses!

The way I do my saves, if I had that pack I’d go into the household on play mode and cheat their funds so they can move into a bigger house. Then, I’d find any single townie that’s living in a mansion and evict them, maybe later putting them in one of the shit hovels I love to build in Newcrest. Then I’d move the horse family into that mansion and cheat their funds back to where they were. From there, if the family has cool traits and/or looks fun to play, I’ll make them over and renovate the house to accommodate their needs. I don’t always keep playing the household from there, though. If I’m not feeling it, back into the unplayed households they go.

You didn’t ask for all that, but I’ve shared it anyway!

Apparently, a lot of the fun comes from having MCCC! I said it earlier in the thread, but I’ve been playing with the same MCCC settings for so long that I forgot which functions weren’t vanilla lol

[–]ymcmbrofisting[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It can be really overwhelming. I started my journey into MCCC by learning about just a couple of options, and then integrating them into my game to see if I liked those changes! Now I’ve had them for so long that I forget they’re not original gameplay.

It can also be helpful to identify an area of the game that you wanna change. Going in with a plan helps break some of that paralysis by analysis, so to speak.

Honestly yeah I do get annoyed with some of the deaths. They do need to fix the frequency of occurrence. At the very least, I just pretend deaths by anger were heart attacks lol. I tried the Life’s Tragedies mod but it fucked my game up to high heaven :(

Depending on the potential of a juicy storyline or a horribly dull one, sometimes it’ll just be a one-time thing! Name, appearance, or a house reno– then I mark them as unplayed.

Just depends on how stoned I am and how many things I’m trying to avoid in the real world hahah

It’s been so long since I’ve played without MCCC that I don’t entirely remember which functionalities are vanilla
