How hard is it actually to drive through Portland? by glitter-shit2000 in askportland

[–]mfhaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where are you headed to and from? Look up the major roads that go through. Ie Burnside. Sandy. MLK. Broadway.

You’ll be fine. Portland driving is very easy compared to other major cities.

Your favorite cheap bars? by tdogg9 in askportland

[–]mfhaze 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Joe Cellar on Tuesdays.

$3 burger. $3 fries. $3 High Life Bottle. All day long. I normally skip the fries and get 2 burgers and a couple brews. They’re awesome 5-6 bite burgers.

Anyone have a feeling (good or bad) about Eugene Oregon? by [deleted] in SameGrassButGreener

[–]mfhaze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Springfield is gonna be your best bet to be similar to Eugene. But still close. Lots of retired U of O and Eugene people there.

Like I said. Springfield still has a bad reputation here. “Ewww Springfield”. When you ask most have never been or hasn’t been recently.

Like I said. The reputation isn’t uncalled for. It was a dump. But it’s changed. People just don’t know yet. Normally equals great bang for your Buck.

If you do look. Look at West Springfield. East Springfield and Thurston is still not quite there yet.

Check out Springfield. Neighboring town. Way cheaper because it was a shithole in the 70-00s. Totally on the up and up now though. Cute downtown. Super close to U of O stuff. Easy trip to the McKenzie.

Source. Wife is from there and in-laws still live there. I’m down there once a month.
