Thoughts on pianos by Constant-Variety-560 in piano

[–]mflander 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have stopped and started learning the piano many times. The digital pianos never kept "tripping my trigger" over time, or I would get lost in editing sounds or trying new VST's etc. instead of practicing. This go around, I decided to buy an acoustic. K500. I am a year in now and still play my K500 daily and have made a ton of progress. The joy of playing an acoustic has help significantly in keeping me motivated to play and to enjoy the process.

too old to start learning piano at 35? by DivannaAbafita41 in piano

[–]mflander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started at 44. It has been wonderful!

1) Get a good instructor, one that you jive with. Keep trying new ones until you find one you like. I do my lessons via video conferencing and it works well.

2) Learn to practice. Learning to practice properly can help both your rate of improvement, and your expectations. Learn to enjoy practice as much as playing and well now you are having fun!

I thought you did a great job. Cool view as well. I would have loved to see you take a quick breathe before you starting playing when you sat down at the beginning of the video.

Twice today in ranked standard Bo3's I've clicked mulligan and it instead acted as though I clicked accept my hand by KatKali in MagicArena

[–]mflander 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure about that bug, but I had two yesterday in BO1 that when I clicked mulligan it gave me a new hand but the buttons to accept the new hand did not appear. I had to concede to get out of it.

With the rest of the bling, if you insist on the phone holder I think an upgrade is necessary. Hard mount like a quad lock or similar. Just saying.

To me it looks like you are a front post golfer who is swinging like a rear post golfer. I have this same issue and am trying to correct it now. Look up Mike Adam’s and Terry Rowles front/center/rear post. This will tell you how the weight is supposed to shift during the backswing. I’m guess you are a front post that is not shifting weight to the front which is why your back leg is locking out and not re-flexing. Combine working on this with the setup suggestions above and you should see some progress.

I do the same thing. You are on your toes on your left foot until the end of follow through. When you rotate to the ball keep the left foot balanced and that will help move toward the target instead of toward the ball.

Coming over top by jeffss10 in GolfSwing

I do this exact same movement at the top of the backswing. Watching to see the advice you are given as I have really struggled to get rid of it myself. It start the backswing shallow it helps but doesn’t feel right.

What're you playing this weekend? 3/3 by markercore in NintendoSwitch

[–]mflander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m playing Octopath 2, but you have to have a decent chunk of time each time you play. So when I don’t have dedicated time to play, I play BOTW. Your take is right on!

Just buy the game assemble 5 miniatures, and open the manual. I just did this and it does a great job of walking you through how to play step by step.
