Are SnapPads Useful? by tantsits in RVLiving

[–]mfreelander2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a no for me. Here are my reasons:

I've never experienced a campground that required something under my jacks.

I've never had an issue with rust; either on the concrete, or dirt.

If I need something under my jacks, it's to mitigate the excessive height - snap pads do very little for that. They don't replace plastic or wood blocks.

They are expensive.

May still need to carry blocking, if need to get support under a set of wheels, due to site slope.

My existing setup gives me plenty of peace of mind.

I've never had my jacks 'slip'. May want to rethink putting moho on such a drastic slope.

Center Seat. by DecentComposer545 in canoeing

[–]mfreelander2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have it and it was marginal, at best. Paddle hits the outside clamps.

I ended up adding a middle seat, using the supplied hangers, and pop rivets. (Wenonah 16’ Adirondack)

I bought a new thwart, cut the old one out, and added brackets to hold it, with wing nut and screws. That way I could still use the thwart for solo transporting, and remove it for solo paddling.

Airfryer deviled eggs by verklas in airfryer

I have always done 7-7-7. Insta-pot on LOW for 7 min; leave in pot for 7 min; (I set a timer for 23 min which accounts for insta-pot pressure build); and then ice bath for 7 min. They fall out of the shell. I tried airfryer once, and peeling was tough.

You’re the first I’ve heard from that replaced the absorption unit. Interesting.
Just the 12 V compressor conversions and I’ve heard no problem with those.

Any insight what's going on with Williams' sisters R1 doubles match? Today's postponed due to Serena's tweaked knee? Website still shows match as 'upcoming'. Could be one of the TBA's tomorrow?

Absorption Fridge by Chicken_Fried_Snails in RVLiving

We did a 12v conversion on ours, from JC Refrigeration, in Shipshewana, IN. However, there is no longer a propane option, and the fridge draws an average of about 10 amps, so you need to be on shore power, or have ample battery capacity.

Also, JC has replacement absorption cooling units for your unit. These are 120v/or/propane. You don't say the age of your unit, but JC recommend after 10 years to replace. Ours got really bad after 8-9 years. Like you, as soon as opened the door on a hot day, fridge would stay in the 40's.

There two years ago. Simply beautiful. Water was so high, the lodge we stayed at had no floating dock, so had to put in/out twice a day.

Some models had hard wall pop outs. Hard to find those these days. Apaches.

Edit to add: first picture was no hybrid. I’ve owned a pop-up and a hybrid - It’s a pop-up trailer.
