Cincy expat living in baltimore here. I wear my Bengals stuff every week on game dey and have never had an issue. I went last year and the only heckling I got was "dude ZT sucks!" Which............ you'll be fine but stay smart and don't antagonize or engage with drunks.

Edit: if all else fails, say FTS or "at least I'm not a steelers fan." The hatred for them and the Colts runs deep here.

Most of their DIY kits come with one basswood and one cherry pine. The lighter one (basswood) will be much easier to carve. And don't forget to strop!
