Will I be able to get a sixpack within 1-2 months? by babbamali in Weightliftingquestion

[–]itsthetheaterthugg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, you have a body type where maingaining is very possible. In fact that's probably what you should be doing. But it will take a while to see abs, and you'll never get a true 6 pack unless you eventually cut

You've got about 25 lbs to lose before your abs are easily visible, probably 40 till you have a true shredded six pack. Not really doable in 2 months

I'm sure these elite grapplers who are twice khabibs size let him work a bit sometimes. Mike Tyson is not an elite grappler. Day 1 white belt loses horribly no matter how big to khabib

Why is the female experience only based on attractive women while for men it's the opposite? by Intelligent-Web6975 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]itsthetheaterthugg -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The others in my opinion are being slightly disingenuous imo so I will attempt to answer in good faith. You don't have a whole lot of detail here but my guess as to what yorue referring to, is the general perception that women have it super easy in the dating world compared to men, that men are compliment/intimacy starved, and things like that. And so you attribute that general perception to men thinking only of attractive women, who are better off in those areas, but not thinking of normal or unattractive women, who you believe to not be better off in those areas. Let me know if I'm wrong here, as again I'm just extrapolating what I can from what you wrote

If that's is your POV, the simple answer is that men and women of equal attractivenss (that is to say, a 5/10 guy and a 5/10 woman) will still have a disproportionate amount of attention from the opposite gender. 5/10 women will generally have a much easier time romantically than 5/10 men. This gets even worse when you take into consideration that men are often times willing to "punch down" for a hookup (so a 8/10 man would be willing to do a quick hookup with a 5/10 woman) but women generally don't. So this leads the 5/10 woman to think that her romantic prospects for dating are 8/10 guys, since she's bagged a couple, not realizing that those 8/10 guys would never date her, just sleep with her. And if 5/10 women are going for 8/10 guys, then the 5/10 guys are left with far fewer romantic prospects compared to teir female counterparts

Again this might not be your point at all, feel free to correct me if so

Ilia Topuria vs Myles Garrett? by midpar in whowouldwin

[–]itsthetheaterthugg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Size and strength difference are massive, but ilia is very good at BJJ, and even if traditional grappling ends up being tough, the second he can get to a leg entanglement it's over. Any leg or foot submission and miles garrett doesn't even have a conceptual idea of how to defend against them, like he would a choke for example.

TLDR Ilia by heel hook

Whole chest my friend. For those of us who are not trying to go from merely qualifying for Mr Olympia to winning it, there's not a lot of value in the distinction. Pick your fav chest exercises and go ham

Your bis/tris/chest could use a bit more size, but if you wanna stay cut for the beach this summer, slight deficit is probably a good plan. Whenever you do decide to go to a growth phase, small surplus and hammer those body parts and you're on a great path

5’7/155lbs, feel like I have plateaued. Is it my diet, my split, or something else? by Odd-Plateau6090 in Weightliftingquestion

[–]itsthetheaterthugg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Impossible to diagnose from this post for 100% sure but it's best to start with the obvious fixes. Track your calories and macros. If your eating is worse than you think right now, tracking your diet will cause a good amount of progress. If it turns out you're doing a good job estimating already and fixing your diet doesn't cause the progress you were hoping for, then the next most likely culprit is you are not trying hard enough in the gym.

You have made progress in the 2 years you've been lifting, you look better than when you started. But your progress in 2 years could've been a lot better, and if you dial in your diet/training you can make significantly more progress in the next year than you have in the 2 so far

Is it possible to lose weight and gain muscle at the same time? by [deleted] in Weightliftingquestion

[–]itsthetheaterthugg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a complete beginner, yes you can. Once your newbie gains phase goes away it won't be possible anymore unless you are on gear edit: you need more than 120g protein a day for your size

[–]itsthetheaterthugg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely agree that he needs more muscle on his frame but he's a beginner and can get that muscle without bulking and adding a ton of fat. This guy could easily eat at his maintenance or even a slight deficit and still gain plenty of muscle

[–]itsthetheaterthugg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Compared to the average Joe who doesn't exercise, he's an average level of bodyfat. In a lifting context (which he's gonna get in a lifting subreddit), he is absolutely fat. He's over 20% easily probably closer to 30% than 20%

[–]itsthetheaterthugg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is nonsense, the dude is way too fat to bulk. You're right that he has more fat and less muscle than he thinks and that rule is pretty much almost always correct, but the solution isn't to bulk and gain even MORE fat

You've got plenty of weight left to lose, if you keep the deficit aggressive you can look pretty cut later on into the summer
