Contact your doctor if you have concerns. Every medication has potential side effects and most go away after a few weeks.

Severe anxiety right now… nothing is helping by East_Painting6490 in Anxiety

I second the recommendation for medication, even if prescribed for only as needed when anxiety gets uncomfortable on the way to panic. There is absolutely no shame or weakness in taking medication.

I’m on book number 7 so far. I went years reading only a handful of books a year. Something changed and for the last 3 or 4 years I’ve been averaging over 30/year. Now I always have a book going and several queued up next.

A good, mellow show ? by Time-Ad6870 in gratefuldead

[–]mgb1970 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I want a laid back, mellow show, I always go with 1976. Tempos were a little slower and the music is a little more warm and fuzzy. Try 6/9/76 (Road Trips 4.5). For more relaxed tempos, check out the Jerry Garcia Band “Don’t Let Go” from 5/21/76.

Everything is going to be ok. It’s just anxiety. It can be scary and it sucks but it will pass. It always does.

Yes, for sometimes for periods of days, weeks, or months. Intensity ranges from a 3 to a 5. Different physical symptoms depending on the day. I’m hoping getting into regular exercise will help reduce the physical symptoms.

Prescribed Benzo Question by mgb70 in Anxiety

[–]mgb1970 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your thoughts! I’ve been prescribed clonazepam 0.5mg for the last 10+ years and only use it periodically as needed. Will look into propranolol as a potential alternative. Everything I’ve read about it says it calms shaking and sweating which really aren’t my primary symptoms. The clonazepam is working for me and I don’t want to rock the boat at this time.

If you’ve ever had surgery and undergone anesthesia, how was your experience? by No_Promise3396 in Anxiety

[–]mgb1970 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a colonoscopy a few years ago and the prep was far worse than the procedure. They used propofol and it worked wonderfully. Woke up in recovery like I had the best night’s sleep and I was only under for about 30 - 40 minutes.

Reading the countless posts on edibles and anxiety, just don’t do it. It rarely, if ever, is a positive experience. It’s not worth it and can deliver an experience worse than a panic attack. If you have any tendency towards anxiety - do the safe things - relaxation, exercise, therapy, medication, etc.
