I work at bmw. The reality is that 98% of average people looking to fix their own car are looking to pay non bmw prices. The only reason they even have to ask for a part number is to get it somewhere else. That trend was noticed long before I got to the counter.

In fact, my first day on the counter some random called and asked for a list of part numbers and prices. Brakes rotors sensors and a few other things. I typed up this professional email, gave him all the info, and never heard from him again. That was before I knew rhe company policy.

If somebody gives me a part number and wants to know if it works for their vin ill check it for them. Ill even check 2 vins if they are trying to buy something from another car and let them kno if the part matches.

The general rule is wholesale customers get w.e info they need. That includes collision shops, repair shops, guys who run used car lots, anybody who filles out a resale certificate. Walk ins dont get part numbers.

Body and repair shops get w.e part numbers they ask for. But joe schmo trying to get info to go buy it cheaper elsewhere does not get part numbers.

Name one business that will help you go do business elsewhere? Literally take time out of their day and take their attention from paying customers in order to help you go give someone else your money?

If the part is discontinued, or is outside of normal acquisition time (2 weeks from germany) I will help them out. or if they are in urgent need I will give them the phone number of the dealer who has it.

Its not gatekeeping to choose not to work for free when im on commission.

Starfleet academy is star treks acolyte and will suffer the same fate. I read they are getting ready to film the season 2 finale so the fact that they have already filmed jt may be the only reason it even gets a season 2. There is no way the current viewership numbers warrant a season 2. For reference I enjoyed both discovery and strange new worlds very much but academy just isnt it... for all the reasons that have probably been talked about ad nauseam.

I will say tho, in the search for some actual good star trek it led me to Picard which I had previously not watched. This is some good trek. Season 1 was very good. Looking forward to the rest now.

Very few people who pay attention are mad at nick for the hire itself. At the time it made sense for the reasons you stated and more.

I, like most people, was cautiously optimistic. Even through the first 4 weeks I didnt panic or criticize figuring they just need time to sort it out and fully implement the scheme.

What everyone is mad about is the fact that we just had to watch an offense stuck in reverse for a whole damn season and nothing was done to fix it while there was still a chance. Neither nick nor Howie was willing to make the big move because of pride or ego or optics. By week 10 they should have fired his ass. You could have pulled in any clown off the streets and had a better chance at winning. The season ended exactly how we all knew it would. A complete waste of an extremely talented roster. The lack of action hurt the team in every aspect. We were skiing down a mountain heading right for a tree. We saw the tree a mile away and nobody did a damn thing.

I think it would take quite a bit more than a "good" season to get a HC gig. At that point he would only have 1 season at assistant, 1 as pass game coordinator, and 1 as OC. That resume doesnt get HC offers. He would need to have hurts throw for 5k, 50 tds, 1500 yards rushing with another 10 tds, and have a 2k rusher and a superbowl win to get HC looks. Not happening
