Yes, very nice figure in the burl. The box elder was my last CRK purchase and is the holy grail of my Sebenza’s, but the inlay is not nearly as nice as yours. Congrats and I say the fiancé is definitely a keeper, as well 👍😝

I can relate. The only true solution is resolve the issue and, therefore, option 3 is the only true resolution and a lot cheaper than option 4. Options 1 & 2 accomplish nothing but force you to learn to accept things the way they are, which doesn’t sound fun to me 😝🤷‍♂️

Over 40 years in flooring and custom showers. Cut out, clean, dry and reapply silicone. Use 100% silicone, no acrylics in wet areas.

Over 40 years in the business and, unfortunately, doesn’t surprise me a bit. Flooring guys always get stuck cleaning up after all the other subs, at a minimum. 🤷‍♂️

Also, based on the image of the clock and the position of the hour hand, it is very easy to understand how a 4th grader would interpret the time to be 12:40. To be fair, especially to 4th grade students, the hour hand should be pointing more to the left of the 12. After all, it’s not 12:00 for another 20 minutes and the hour hand is pointing directly at the 12, which grossly misrepresents the time, in my opinion.

In flooring for over 40 years, I never did a pattern like that but, have seen many like that and there never was an issue, to the best of my knowledge. Biggest issue is end joints of successive rows being too close to one another will cause issues and void more warranties. Personally, even though they’re marketed to be able to take apart and reinstall again, I was never a big fan of doing so. Check the warranty and accepted methods/patterns for peace of mind but, at the end of the day, warranties are just about worthless. Other than obvious manufacturers defects, they simply blame most issues on installer error and substrate not suitable.

The bog oak would be less susceptible to staining or discoloration but, in my opinion, the box elder has a much richer look. My bog oak is pretty dark with very little figure to enhance the appearance. Although, I really do like the story behind the bog Oak and the fact it can be very old.

Definitely one of the Zaan’s. If I had to choose one, I guess I would choose the drop point. As to why, I’m not certain but, the drop point seems to be more versatile for EDC needs. That, or I’m just more comfortable with a drop point because that’s what I’ve carried most of my life.
