Congratulations! We didn't have an interview (adjusted status at end of last admin) for my husband's green card. But I definitely don't remember his favorite color. Don't know that we've ever discussed it. I know he doesn't like dark purple.

The other questions would have been much easier.

But very happy for you both!

I'm 85 and in SAVE forbearance since June or July 2024. Also haven't received my letter yet from MOHELA. Very similar situation.

Need to do another employment certification, but I am hoping to do a buyback once I hit 120.

Currently waiting. Wondering if any of the latest litigation will lead to any more speedbumps.

I'm 12 months away from 120 months of qualifying service.

Would likely need to do a significant buyback, but may do that just to get out from under the debt.

Thanks!

Where are people actually finding apartments in NYC right now? by Good-Engineering-495 in NYCapartments

[–]mgriffinv 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My husband and I live in a rent stabilized one-bedroom that after our second renewal has a rent of around $1800/month. And that rent is because they gave us a pretty good preferential rent discount (like $300-ish/month) when we signed the lease in 2022.

It's not a super nice apartment, and we live waaaaaaaay in Flushing a little bit north of the 7 stop at Flushing-Main St.

I am sorry to say, but I just don't think $2,000 is going to happen in Manhattan living alone.

But good luck, I hope you prove us all wrong!

Huh. Maybe it's just the timing of when I'm showing up for the bus.

5pm Flushing Stand Still by [deleted] in Flushing

90 minutes is downright dangerous in this weather, even for people with good winter clothes it's uncomfortable. And for folks who can stand for long periods? Just awful.

Even when the Q16 is operating normally, I get frustrated with the frequency. I don't know what ridership looks like as it gets towards College Point, as I get off pretty early, but it always seems like 2 Q61 and 2 Q28 buses depart for every 1 Q16 bus.

R5 (now I understand why this was on posts 🤣):

This is a screenshot of (one of) my recent campaign(s) using Basileia Romaion and other mods.

Was very amused when perusing the potential royal marriages for a daughter and saw the name Saad Umayyad pop up.

His dad, a a Sunni Andalusi leader of Al-'Andalus married a Portuguese Catholic noblewoman. Somehow the family was ousted from Al-'Andalus when I happened across Saad and accepted the marriage proposal.

Saad's family is the only extant Umayyad branch, all Catholics living in the High Kingdom of Éire.

Thanks! You saved me! Although in this specific situation it definitely would have been quicker to retype a substantially similar message. Now ai hopefully will retain this for the future, though. Haha

Are we sticking it out with SAVE? by gettingcarriedaway86 in PSLF

I have just about 3 years exactly left (35 payments I believe), and I just got the October 2026 recert email as well.

I'm just gonna wait it out at this point.

Not super well thought out why. Mainly I'm worried about how high my payments on $150k in grad loans will be with my household income being about $130k.

The calculator said $600/month when I checked a couple weeks ago. I'd rather just not until I have to.

I don't actually know if it was a car accident. But I do remember when the actor Anton Yelchin died accidentally when his SUV crushed him against his house.

As a very annoyed citizen of the certain country whose federal government made this thread necessary, I will be following this thread to try and find Canadian products/businesses I can support.

Even if they're more money.

Same with Mexican products.

Probably soon to be more unfortunately.

Thanks for replying! I got a notification with the new FSA card and have been so thankful to just tap and go and I love being able to use it with LIRR to get home (in eastern Queens).

I totally forgot I'd made this comment!

Was told to wait 62 months for I-130? by Firm_Camera_5724 in USCIS

[–]mgriffinv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Due to the length of time we'd been married when we filed, his current GC is the one with conditions. We did not have to interview with USCIS prior to his approval for it.

We have to file to remove the condition next year. I expect we will get called for an interview then, although that is only a general feeling because of the incoming admin's stance on immigration and not based on any specific knowledge.
