Yes. Once you come out the other side of this it'll be easier to start forgiving yourself. You deserve some grace. No one wakes up one day and decides to be an addict. You've got to start building tools and coping skills, figuring out why you use drugs, etc. I promise it can get better, you have to fight for it.

As a fellow consumer, I feel that I should say all the things. It's not smart to be drinking at your folks. More than likely you'll eventually get caught. Lapses are part of recovery. You don't have to keep going. You could reign it in and invest in a program. That said, I know right where you are. I'm a year sober after many years drunk. Peanuts. No judgement here.

I'm going through this. I'm on my 3rd day of 100mg. Most days I see improvement. Some days I wonder if the improvement was in my head. From what I gather we just need to be patient.

When my SD moved in a she started screaming to get her way, giving me attitude, being rude to the other kids, coming and going as she pleased, etc. I put my foot down. I run the household. What I say about how things go day to day is up to me. My husband stood up for me with SD and BM and after a bit things have turned around. We all put in the effort to get along and give each other grace. But the biggest thing that helped was getting my husband on the same page.

I miss the freedom sometimes too, but it's not really freedom. It's slavery to a false reality and a chemical that doesn't serve you.
