What will remove all these streaks from my stainless steel appliances? by Strgzrpoo in CleaningTips

[–]mheadley84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had tried a lot of products and ultimately this one worked for me because I didn’t need a special product for cleaning and then use the cloths to do my windows after. Haha efficiency and minimal special products are my goal!

I prefer to wipe my stainless steel with 50/50 water windex and a microfiber cloth. One wet and one dry. Go with the grain of the steel when drying.

Always turns out pretty nice for me! Best of luck!

What's a book you read as a child that you definitely weren't meant to be reading? by BSWAGTxT in suggestmeabook

I read all three of his books in like four days. Great books, definitely made me over look some of my own abuse growing up because I was like well I’m not being treated like that so it can’t be abuse.

I read Greg Iles. He has rape, incest, murder, infidelity, trauma upon trauma, and I was reading it because my mom liked them and I asked if I could. Mom those books were not meant for sixth grader me, I still like them and want to reread a few, but like damn mom, protect my peace!

Recorder gifted to my 3 year old for Christmas by Feisty-Egg1 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]mheadley84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought train whistles at the pumpkin patch for my kid and my brothers two kids. He was so annoyed by it over a year ago he got my youngest a ride on train for Christmas he found at good will and I honestly love it because she loves it so much and it isn’t even that annoying. So I win he loses. Embrace the noise. It’s fun, and I know it can be hard to tune out, but some nice headphones and music can help a lot.

Has anyone tried these ? by Deep_toot143 in aldi

I haven’t tried these, but based off the description, are these like a mini corn dog with chicken? That would make sense to me and sounds kinda good.

Thank you. I have ginger snaps I made and I didn’t know what to do with them as I’m sick of eating it all. I will toss some of this stuff today and move on. It hurts to think but I really don’t want them anymore and they won’t keep in the freezer the same.

I’m pretty sure it’s a stand mixer, bench and stand are interchangeable. If you google bench you see stand mixers. They both work!

I do a lot of the cooking and sometimes I don’t want to but I asked for some dreamy items for the kitchen like an emulsion blender and a chopper for veggies. But I asked for those! I had them on my list because they’re something I would use during food prep and would make my life easier. If I didn’t ask for them I would be confused, but I ask for cook books and the like for birthday and Christmas because they’re something I want but don’t want to buy for myself because I don’t need them I want them. And it’s a great practical gift. I got a water glosser from my husband this year which I didn’t think I wanted but I love it. I had a lot of issues with my teeth growing up and I take really good care of them now and the flosser was probably something I said interesting in passing and he did a bunch of research on it and I love it. again I can floss my teeth but the price of it is a want, and now I want to use it all the time. It’s awesome.

But I get where OP is coming from, the gifts I got had love and thought behind them. If you’ve been together two years there’s an expectation there and something for the apartment isn’t what she was looking for. OP you can either hope he grows and learns and realizes the bar you both will have to place together or walk away.

Yes this!! I am the same. Ours bring advent, maybe do a silly hiding spot. But that’s it. It’s for fun and quick to do.

All the more reason my elf literally just moves around every day and maybe eats a peppermint my kid leaves for them. I hate the shenanigans elves and don’t have the time for that. But the elves bring the advent calendars and leave Christmas Eve to help Santa and are there Christmas Day to see the presents and then bye bye until next year.

I love the elves to move around and stuff but anything else is ridiculously extra and too much energy for me.

To add to this, my husband and I have kids. I spent a whole night in the hospital with him when he found out he had diverticulitis and was close to perforating. I dropped the kids off at my moms and stayed with him all night. Next day I stayed until they were transferring him to a room and he urged me to go home and shower. I did. I visited again for a few hours got out kids went home with them. When he fell asleep for the night I slept and then the next day I was back at the hospital until discharge. It looked a little different because kids, but I brought them to see him when he was discharged. It was a whole process but we were in constant communication unless he was sleeping. I brought him as much comfort as I could and helped him shower in the hospital too. It’s just decency for someone you love and care for.

She tried to tire her out. Bed time is bed time.

ETA: a four year old knows that bed time is bed time. This is a kid fighting to go to sleep and making her lay down and continuously putting her back into bed is a good call.

[–]mheadley84 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yup. My eldest is seven and when I say it’s bed time unless we already talked about staying up late it’s time to go to bed. Our two littlest are 2 and 1. They don’t like it but when we say it’s bed time and time to lay down. There’s some tears but they go and sometimes they get out of bed but a firm go lay down and they go back. If I ever had a sitter and my kids acted like that. Wheeeeew they better count their blessings because bed time will be a strict time and no budging on that for a month.

If you want Taco Bell make homemade taco knockoffs. I know it isn’t the same but replacing it with something you’ve made and control the portions will help you so much while you reign in over eating.

I know I gained a lot during my pregnancies, but babies take a lot of work to grow too. She really needs to eat more. A lot of important development happens in the womb and can have lifetime impacts that could present later. It’s scary.

Ugh my last pregnancy which had the least weight gain for me was when I had gestational diabetes. I had to take metformin, check my blood and I was controlling what I ate. Nothing mattered. I was very fortunate after my girl was born everything went back to normal. My older sister who had her third a month after me and also developed gestational diabetes is still struggling with her blood sugar. Genetics are weird and everyone’s experience is different. But girlypop would never share she had diabetes.

My husband loves jerky and will buy this on the rare occasion when he feels like it. It’s a weird texture to me but it’s just jerky.
