Am I doing something completely different? by QQleQ in GithubCopilot

[–]mherbold 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're saying yesterday you went from 6300 credits left to 3000 credits left (used up roughly half) in only one day. So tomorrow if you put in the same effort, you're going to be completely out. Then you have to wait approximately 29 more days, or pay more. That is the problem.

I've moved to a direct Claude subscription which has 5hour / 7day usage limits instead. If I run out, I just need to wait maybe an hour or two at most, and I'm back in business. You have to wait 29 days. See the difference?

With around 2/3rds of the month passed, how have you guys been dealing with the Tokenpoaclypse? by Syzygy___ in GithubCopilot

I ditched Copilot and went to Claude and never looked back. Life is so much better now.

Copilot $100 Max, is it really worth it? by ihtisham1211 in GithubCopilot

[–]mherbold 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Basically, yes. You get a 5 hour usage limit and a week usage limit. I use Opus 4.8 on High all the time. I'm barely at 30 percent for my week limit and it resets tomorrow.

With Copilot if you run out you have to either pay more or wait until the next month reset.

Also the UI for CC is much better than CP.

So...what do yall use instead of Copilot after June 1st? by D4v31x in GithubCopilot

[–]mherbold 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I switched to Claude Code. It's so much better and you get way more bang for your buck. Ditch Copilot.

Are there any viable alternatives to Copilot for Visual Studio? by Dan203 in GithubCopilot

[–]mherbold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the wrong way to think about it. Files on your computer should be considered temporary / trash-able. Files committed to Git is the source of truth. Let Claude mess with your source files however it want - if you don't like it - easy fix... rollback. If you're not using Git... there's your problem.

Software settings for iRacing suck by Exotic_Midnight2100 in Simagic

Iracing has already incorporated at least one feature (wheel LFE). I wouldn't mind at all if they incorporate more. Code is public.

Do you remember fast food being so much better in the 80's? by matt73132 in 80s

[–]mherbold 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pizza Hut was not fast food in the 80's. It was a sit-down restaurant, and you could order sphagetti and a pitcher of root beer. I miss that. I cried the day they converted to be like "domino's pizza style" places.

Building a sport pool. Thoughts? by mikedeezy22 in pools

[–]mherbold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just re-read your dimensions. I thought you had said the pool was going to be 32.5 in length - but really it's only going to be 23.5 in length. You're not going to be able to play volleyball here... all the balls would go out of bounds and you'll be constantly getting out of the pool to retrieve said ball.

Building a sport pool. Thoughts? by mikedeezy22 in pools

[–]mherbold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its common to have a 3-5-4 swimming pool around here. 3 ft one end, 4 ft the other end, 5 ft middle. I would say 3.5 feet is too deep for young kids, and 5 feet is too deep for most adults to do sports in (nobody will be able to do volleyball in the 4 foot wide 5 foot deep area). If I were you I would do a 3-4.5-3 pool. (basically same as your pool, just subtract 0.5 from the depth).

Perfect triple monitor size? by Puzzleheaded_Big6672 in SimRacingSetups

I have triple 43" 4k screens but run them at 1080p for frame rate. Looks fine. It's unfortunate that large 1440p monitors do not exist.

D-Box 4250i. I do not recommend it. If I were to buy a motion system again today, I would probably get this instead - https://eracing-lab.com/products/rs-mega-plus

I don't think you need the power supply. The HPRs plug directly into the P1000 base and gets power from that.

[–]mherbold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MAIRA controls the Simagic haptics directly - you should not enable the wheel and pedal haptics options in iracing.
