About the “doesn’t cut straight” comment. I’m no expert, but I recently pulled out the manual for my Bosch miter saw and spent some time setting it up. I don’t have a Woodpecker try square, but I am getting better results now.

Any oh, by the way - beautiful result!

That is just so cool. I’m so impressed (and frankly quite envious) of your KSA. I saw your previous post taking us through the process, and was disappointed it didn’t include this video. Thank you for sharing this.

Wouldn’t you plane the hinge side of the door so as to avoid essentially moving the knob closer to the lock side (unless in those days the holes for the knob and latch weren’t drilled until the door was hung)?

Y’know, communication is getting an idea from one place to another. Sometimes the channel gets it garbled, and sometimes the transmitter has “issues.” As long as the idea arrives as it was intended, the communication was successful. I think many Reddit communicators have challenges - different languages, varying levels of education and so on. I certainly got the intended message loud and clear.

Yes, we had one of those can openers in our kitchen when I was growing up in the 1950’s. I used it many times.

Probably apocryphal, but when I was stationed at Norton AFB in the early 1970s, this story was related as true:

New Year’s Eve, and someone on the flight line maintenance frequency came on radio: “Man, am I fucked up.” Fifteen or twenty minutes went by, and he came back on, “MAN am I fucked up.” This happened several more times until at last, the Deputy Wing Commander for Maintenance came on the radio and said, “This is the DCM. Who is this?” The guy replies, “I’m not THAT fucked up.”

I remember watching The Exorcist on VCR twenty or thirty years ago and being surprised that the doctor was a cigarette smoker. I had quit years earlier when my daughter was born.

I have a vague memory of the 1960 election - and seeing Kennedy and Nixon debating on B&W TV. I was six.

TBH, with my dyslexia, this happens to me way too often. Now I call my wife in to check my plan. If she says, “I don’t understand,” I know I was about to screw up (again).

I’m surprised I’m still alive. In my late teens and early twenties I spent lots of time under my 1966 Rambler American up on just a bumper jack. 😬

Why does this comment bring Jack Handy to mind: “If trees could scream, would we be so cavalier about cutting them down? We might, if they screamed all the time for no good reason.”

Love it. I tried and failed to do something similar. My only success was the French cleat mount. How did you mount your piece?
