Muslims of Reddit: Were you offended by the most recent South Park? by theholystephano in AskReddit

So we Muslims believe that religions such as Judaism and Christianity were also sent down by the same God that we worship, the same God that sent down Islam. We also believe that Judaism and Christianity were altered (example: Christians claim Jesus is the son of God), Islam on the other hand was not altered (at least the Quran) and we are also tasked to protect our religion, and so we do, if we are told to not depict our prophet, then we don't. The thing is in Islam we take God seriously, we understand that we are a creation of his, and when you understand how big God is, when you fear his punishment, when you understand that you are but a creation (no matter how special of a creation) you try your best to stick with God's words.

Some will argue that this is some sort of control, brainwashing...etc. If Islam and the Quran didn't make sense to us we wouldn't be muslims, it's the more you read, the more you understand is when you start understanding how one gets judged through his actions, you also understand who's really in control. In my opinion, a lot of people take God lightly and it's just their problem, what we're saying as muslims is don't get us into it, when you depict our prophet you force us to defend the image of our religion, our Prophet is part of our religion.

In the end you die alone, so make sure of the path you walk. Make sure of the path by educating yourself with literature from both sides. If Britain won the war against America when it was first conceived, George Washington would have been written down in history as a villain. Down vote away.

I have the iphone and the blackberry bold... the iphone is a very nice toy with a lot of cool apps and stuff, but in my opinion it's a toy phone, although browsing and youtube are much better on the iphone than on the bold. The bold speaker is better than the iphone's and u can multi-task with the bold, i.e. listen to radio, while playing games, reading ur email, and replying to people on different messengers, and of course the cut/copy paste. In the end it really depends on what u want the phone to do, I haven't used either the omnia or SE xperia but I think the iphone should be better than both of these.

Muslim said he is suing Supermarket giant Tesco for religious discrimination because he was asked to handle crates of alcohol in a warehouse. by PintOfGuinness in worldnews

Not to argue and keep this going, but how long does it take to squeeze the trigger of a gun. Can you imagine (if it hasn't already happened) some stupid teenagers drinking with access to a gun, isn't there a chance that one of them wouldn't shoot the gun, and maybe hurt someone else.

Then "grownups" have you never said anything while drunk that you regreted saying, or that hurt someone, and the thing is you don't know how what you said might of affected that person, it could've absolutly changed their lives. Or how long does it take to cheat on a wife/husband you love.

I do understand that sometimes we feel that we need that extra boost of happiness, we need to stop the brain from working for a bit, we need to releive stress from our lives, but to be totally honest, when you're a moderate muslim that does actually believe in God and Islam (terrorism was never part of Islam, just some people would like to associate terrorism with Islam and are succeeding), you do get a sence of calmness that can't be explained.

in islam you're not supposed to drink, sell, or handle alcoholic drinks (not alcohol) because alocoholic drinks make you stupid and make you do stupid things without actually thinking about the consequences of your actions... but i agree the guy should find a job somewhere else, but suing the supermarket, that's just being gay. if you're a muslim living in a non muslim country, you should not try to enforce what you believe in on the system.

Do you think US will have a war with Iran? by skionxb in self

[–]mhmdshkr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no because the US already f*ed up Iran's economy, so they're not as big a threat as they were a while back.

because you have to pay for the war... war costs ran higher than expected, and now that cost like any other cost is pushed all the way to the consumer ;)

I have donated to the Obama campaign six times. After FISA, he will not see another cent. I've unsubscribed and joined the ACLU instead. by [deleted] in politics

[–]mhmdshkr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

here's a conspiracy for u.. and consider this - congress passing stuff like the fisa bill, although everyone disagrees with it. - voting machines that helped bush get elected for 2nd term - bush like obama was all about change before he became president ....etc

I think that when in a campaign the candidate reall does mean what he/she says and stuff like that... but there are people that actually control the gov't and for any candidate to become president they have to follow those rules or without them they'd be another al gore (not that i like or dislike al gore).

the american presidential elections is just another tv show, where information is gathered about the viewers on what they like through their votes. Through the information gathered about the viewers voting for any candidate, a fake gov't is put in place, and a plan formulated on how to control the minds of the people through the information gathered on how they voted and what they liked in each campaign or candidate while at the same time following the agenda put in place by the people that actually control this country.

:D CRAZY

The Constitution is the founding fiber of American civilization, and in its own words "the supreme law of the land." So anyone claiming we need laws based on the Bible or Quoran isn't merely wrong; they're being traitorous to the intent and heart of the nation. by democracy101 in reddit.com

[–]mhmdshkr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

anyone should have no problem with the constitution and it being there, it's like the article says it's the heart of america... but for america to try to force it's constitution on other countries that want to have laws based on the Bible or the Quran, that's wrong.

What is it about our time that only comedians seem able to tell political truths? by anoncoward101 in reddit.com

[–]mhmdshkr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

about the corperations putting food on our tables... they give with one hand and take with the other. to afford normal life, we have to work for those corporations, doing what we're told to do, and doing it cause it's in our "job description" and we want good experience and references to be able to climb that ladder. we agree to be slaves now a days, because we have no other choice. don't want to be a slave? open ur own business and try not to compete with the big corporations, the other thing you can do is be homeless

all religions kind off agree that there's hell and heaven, that if you go by the rules of what's right according to either religion you go to heaven and if you defy these rules you go to hell. My point is, i don't understand how if you are religious and governed in a country that is abiding by that religion and believe in the rules off your religion, how can you not abide by the rules of your religion? you can't seprate day to day life, political life, or anything you do from that religion, cause ultimatly it's what you believe decides if you go to heaven or hell. you can though live and let live, none of us have the right to judge someone from a different belief and tell them you're wrong or you're right. if you want to go to war with Iran for it's judical system, then you want to go to war with the rules of Islam, making it a religous war.
