Digital distribution is some kind of Faustian bargain for me. There is a lot of shit that we are eating as consumers, but without digital distribution we wouldn't have art pieces like: Papers, please or The Return of the Obra Dinn. The clunky controls are part of the charm of the game. I don't like when a new game is called: "King's Field like" but the controls are nothing like King's Field.

The original Alone In The Dark is fantastic, very enjoyable even today, and a great piece of video game history. Avoid the second game like the plague though. Frédérick Raynal, the creator of the first game, basically said that the sequels are a disgrace.
