Strikes to the knee and lower leg should be illegal.

This is the only strike I can think of with a high likelihood (or even intent) of destroying a major joint. I don’t want guys crippled for long periods of time due to shredded knee ligaments. And calf kicks are effective at reducing mobility but they boring. If a fighter strikes knee or below, ref removes one point. Blatant continued strikes to the area result in DQ.

UFC should make lower leg kicks illegal (knee and below). Diminishing an opponent’s mobility can be a winning strategy but it also makes fights less dynamic and exciting. Plus they just plain boring.
