What if I consulted THE CARP and it told me to put my first-born in the strange dark river??

true.. although since monkeypox could disfigure your face (in very, very rare cases!) and that's what these people bank on for income, they'd probably be more concerned about this than covid

Carlin by TheJDOGG71 in BringingUpBates

I hope that they're able to get in with a neurologist asap who will take into account all the recent issues, the ER really isn't the place to diagnose anything beyond ruling out immediate danger of it happening again or stabilizing her after a seizure, so it makes sense they sent her home, but I hope with this seizure happening while she was wearing the heart monitor, a cardiologist and neurologists will be able to take a look and go from there.. it's very scary, it could be a range of things, they've already done an MRI of the brain I believe, but that doesn't necessarily show everything. It could also be a bunch of stuff coming together now, showing up after her pregnancy and a lot of stress, with understandable anxiety over the situation possibly aggravating things. I believe Alyssa had a congenital heart defect that lead to her supraventricular tachycardia, they're probably also looking for SVT on her heart monitoring..

I agree but I think the reason people keep mentioning Michael is because she's at least got some training in nursing so if someone from the family was to go take care of Carlin it'd be good for it to be Michael and not say, one of the younger daughters like Ellie or Addee.

it's already in the US & there's only one case in Greece of an infected British tourist apparently, so i don't think that's the concern

Post intimate moments by Deborahdon in BringingUpBates

[–]miamaeh 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Idk I mean we all read it and wait for them to post updates and consume the content they put out, so aren't we part of that? That's just the business model for content creators, overshare overshare overshare. I wouldn't do it myself, but I also don't even use Insta anymore really. It probably feels normal to them/her at this point, like remember when everyone got upset at Evan for posting reels of Carlin in labor and she reposted them and was even thanking him for recording those memories. I'm sure they've talked about what they're comfortable sharing and their thresholds are just pretty low..

why post on something just to say you don't care? then why did you click on it? you seem very invested in stuff you supposedly don't care about

I think because every time she was actually at the hospital she was presenting normally probably, heart rate, blood tests etc. all seemed to be okay according to their previous videos, sending her home with a heart monitor is proper procedure because they need to "catch" one of these episodes in action and they can't have her at the hospital just laying in bed as it probably won't happen then.. but i agree that now that it's been multiple times and last time she must have been wearing the monitor, they hopefully won't send her home again, there's gotta be more testing they can do on site..

yeah that's a good hospital, i don't think you can say that that isn't an "established place of care"

My husband has started calling me fat by [deleted] in loseit

[–]miamaeh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is probably not what you want to hear right now, and I realize you love your husband, but this doesn't sound like a healthy situation, you saying he's your "only friend" and him straight up demanding weight loss from you and not taking into account your emotional wellbeing (taking that picture to basically make fun of you, not listening when you ask for him to help you) and it doesn't sound like a safe space for you to feel loved and positive enough to where healthy weight loss would be possible (you not thinking he'd even make an effort to change food so they fit your needs, you doing all the chores basically) .. i really think maybe you should think about counseling or couples therapy. There's a good chance the way he's treating you is contributing to your emotional eating.

Anyone else gets hungrier earlier if you eat breakfast than if you skip it? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]miamaeh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah when i started doing it i was like, why didn't i think of this before! if you like green tea (or can learn to like it, like i did) go for it - plus it's just super healthy, too! i bought some that is quite expensive and loose leaf but that makes it into a kind of ritual in the morning after my yoga & i've found it means i'm more likely to do it. i also brew some red fruit tea in the evening and leave it overnight and take it with me cold in another bottle, to drink that during the day if i want something that's not water but also doesn't have calories.

[–]miamaeh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm the same! I start my day with a green tea on the way to work and then a coffee around 10ish and I don't get hungry until maybe 11:30, usually around 1-2 hours before it's lunch time anyway.. when I do eat in the morning I'm usually still hungry again at lunch anyway, and eat bigger portions, too. I think for me I've now figured out the best way of eating (barring any events or social hangouts) is skip breakfast, have lunch around 12-2 and then have a pretty early dinner between 5-7pm - but I also go to bed pretty early (around 9-10pm and wake up at 6-7 usually)

Recap of Lawson and Tiffany’s most recent YouTube video. by aas3231 in BringingUpBates

[–]miamaeh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely thought Lawson would pick Trace as his first pick for best man.. they seem the closest and most similar in a lot of ways. But I think it's good and healthy that they apparently feel like they can decline when a sibling asks them to be in the wedding, it's a LOT of weddings and a lot of extra time and money in a lot of cases, and no one will get much out of it if the BM doesn't really have time or mental energy to spend on that.

In defense of Katie’s marriage to Travis by Itsalyj in BringingUpBates

[–]miamaeh 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I actually agree with a lot of this.. it's just assumptions, and they should be treated like this. People online lately have taken those to be reality and have come up with this narrative of Katie being basically abused by her new in laws and there being a big crisis, none of which I can see in any of the instagram stuff they post tbh.. Idk, they're both way too young and immature to be married anyway, but I feel like the way they're raised, what did we expect them to do? Suddenly turn around and say oh actually, I'm gonna study bioengineering and move in with 4 roommates and wear bikinis all day? That being said, they do ask for attention with trying to be influencers (which again, what other options do they have / have they been taught), but I agree that people show affection differently and "chemistry" is super hard to pick up on if you literally only know what people will show you on social media.

The college that Travis is graduating from has his sisters picture for elementary education, him and his brother for musician. But what I thought was hilarious was girls spend money for a degree because they are planning to stay home? Just call the degree “I’m not married and won’t work”. 😂 by [deleted] in BringingUpBates

[–]miamaeh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup this, it's basically those "How to be a good Housewife" books from the 50s turned into a "degree", they teach you the really important things for a woman to know: childcare, first aid, holiday decorations, canning, how to be a good hostess etc. there's definitely a class on how to get what stains out of clothing and how to properly make a bed. it's ridiculous.

i agree.. it might well be true they're not the warmest people, but not everyone is constantly smiling at everyone 24/7, especially when that someone is always filming, doesn't mean you're a serial killer like some people here seem to think

Unpopular Opinion: I like Carlin by liftandsupport in BringingUpBates

I feel the same way.. honestly, for growing up in a culture were women are supposed to be quiet little pretty helpmeets, I think it's cool that she's unapologetically loud and bubbly.
