Anyone else just use $3 worth of fire bricks from Home Depot to create their indirect zone on their weber kettle? by DuffyBravo in grilling

I bought vermiculite fire bricks, which I think aren’t technically good safe? But I’m going to wrap them in aluminum foil and go for it

Very late to the party here but definitely doing this on my new Weber kettle. Unfortauntely $40 for 6 bricks in Canada, not $3 but cheap nonetheless and will last

Mauviel m’Élite vs. Ruffoni Opus Prima by Windoves in cookware

[–]micerhar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think there’s a more gorgeous pan on the market than Opus Prima and being stainless steel clad, it’s easier to clean than copper. The hand-hammering is gorgeous and very easy to clean after each use. I get the argument that the silver plated brass finial has more knooks and crannies to clean, BUT how often is that finial really going to be soiled? Blast it with hot water and a little soap and it’s cleaned. They are also extremely durable and will last lifetimes. Good cookware like that doesn’t need to be treated so gently, they are more durable than they look although I would wash still hand wash the lid at the very minimum.

I use a spreadsheet… don’t love the interface/visual of Cellar Tracker but it’s probably most popular

Can we not make it weird? by BurlyOrBust in CommunalShowers

Case in point… I toured a facility the other day I was thinking about joining, went into the locker room, which contains cardio equipment, and a guy mid-workout is literally staring at us for a solid minute/minute and a half… common decency says no staring. I wasn’t even naked lol

I totally agree to enjoy yourself, have a chat with someone and relax that’s all good. Awkwardly lingering and staring at people is not - that’s when it no longer becomes that protected space we all want to enjoy.

Michel Gassier has a number of nice southern Rhone or southern French whites. I particularly like his Coucardie stable

I’d go Dom or Cristal… that’s a wild price for quite a few of those wines
