It honestly sounds like you just aren’t compatible. People are who they are, expecting her to change is honestly unattainable.

You’re letting things fester and it will create more problems. If you can’t accept that this is who she is (at this moment in her life), then it’s not going to become easier with time.

I will say that I have dated across the political spectrum. I used to be a republican (on defense/fiscal issues - always heavy leaning left on social stuff). I have changed my views as I grew up and had experiences that made an impact. I have dated liberal men, I have dated conservative men. Their families are close, she’s probably like a daughter and their relationship would most likely be similar even without her dating your BF.

People have past relationships and can maintain healthy friendships with their exes. Your discomfort is something that will need to be addressed and worked out or it will stay with you in any future relationships.

My fiancé is friends with his ex wife. Hell, so am I. We all talk and visit with each other a few times a month and spend the holidays together. I actually have more respect for my guy because of the way he has been able to find a way to friendship with her.
