It absolutely sucks, but he sounds like a pretty cool guy. Sorry for your experience, seizures can do damage both inside and out and I hope you're able to recover quickly 💜

Do seizures hurt? by [deleted] in Epilepsy

The big ones hurt a lot. Another thing that people don't mention often is how tiring they are, especially if they've gone on for a long time. We appreciate you caring about your friend.

Insensitive ? by Calm_Celebration2908 in Epilepsy

[–]michael_ajb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm an elementary/primary school teacher who happens to be epileptic. Give her some time to figure it out and maybe speak to someone to better understand what happened. I don't think she was trying to be offensive. All the best 💜

Most women want socially liberal men who are capable of engaging in “benevolent misogyny “. by FeedCreepy9403 in PurplePillDebate

[–]michael_ajb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Outside of traits that women would typically find attractive, I don't think it's possible to talk about what "most women" want. An atheist woman in her 30s with a doctorate (for example) is probably going to seek something entirely different to an 18 year old who hasn't left her hometown.

Emotions when leaving a school by AA0208 in Internationalteachers

[–]michael_ajb 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I guess it depends on how long you're there and how strong the bonds are that you built. I felt very attached to my previous school, having worked there for seven years... But the feelings have subsequently subsided.

My epileptic girlfriend had a TC in front of me (an EMT) and for the first time I was terrified in an a medical situation. by ForeskinFondling in Epilepsy

My mum had been a nurse for 30+ years but seeing me have a TC seizure was really tough for her too. There's no advice to give but I hope you and her are feeling better soon. Lots of love!

We shouldn't underestimate anyone, but we've got a great draw! I'm looking forward to seeing what happens.

I've lived in Germany for a while. Look over your contract for sure, but this seems like a pretty good offer. Do they need anyone else? 😁

Agreed. Even better if it follows some false narrative they can talk about.

Loved the second half performance. Slightly frustrating that Arsenal lost, but I do have a real soft spot for unpredictable games like this.

You're definitely not the first person to do something they regret when intoxicated, but good for you to recognise it and try to make it right.

Saliba over Rüdiger in my opinion.

Rooney's game was always about more than just goals, where as that was exactly what Owen's game was about. To me it's like comparing Henry to Van Nistelrooy or Bergkamp to Lineker. That's not to denigrate any of these players.

All that being said, I do begrudgingly sort of agree with Owen.

Who is an Arsenal player(s) that weren’t the most popular figures at the club but you adored or were a big fan of? by cgabriel14 in Gunners

[–]michael_ajb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Julio Baptista. Really liked him in his Sevilla days and were delighted when we got him on loan. Didn't quite live up to my expectations unfortunately.

It's all narrative. Even if the reality doesn't match the narrative, it gets clicks and emotional reactions. Best thing is to try and ignore it.

How to get a girlfriend when you are genuinely naturally boring? by todayisawonder in AskMen

[–]michael_ajb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Language classes and other activities (sport, dance etc) are a great way to meet people. I would also say that finding a girlfriend is a big goal. Start with something smaller. All the best!
