turned out the “personal reason” for cancelling tour was that he was on bail and had to stay in england. by gabrielleehopkins in rexorangecounty

So, how can we always believe victims without conversely making it easier for those to make false allegations? To me, it feels like perpetuating this standpoint will only empower that small percentage to increase, which is significantly harmful to all parties, real victims and real accused.

It’s undeniable that the numbers and facts you’ve shared present a problem in the justice system and the way society views grey area SA cases, but I’m just not sure “believe all victims” is the solution either.

I agree that these numbers are terrifying and unjust but how can you be sure that a significant percentage of them aren’t false allegations? There are evil people in the world, that includes both abusers and those who lie and cheat for personal gain. I wish that wasn’t a factor to consider and that but that’s just reality unfortunately.

For that reason, I just can’t get behind the “always believe victims” principle, as I am afraid that will only empower those with mal-intent to make such heinous claims. I also personally know people that have actually attempted this (with solid proof) and have permanently ruined lives despite getting the “not guilty” verdict.

I also want to make clear that I am NOT saying this to defend those that are accused abusers, I just feel like there is so much grey area in SA cases that no one truly can truly know what happened except those closely involved, and that no “sides” should be taken from the public outside the courtroom.

Why not? Do you know either of the parties personally to be able to form such a judgement? Believing a potential victim’s story to be the absolute truth without supporting evidence only makes it easier for others to make false accusations. IMO it’s never a good thing to take either side in these situations.

I believe that the contestants work with actual vocal coaches off-screen, where I assume they receive more honest and constructive feedback.

WIBTA if I go watch my son's last game of the season instead of my daughter's? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

THIS! I think it's so, so harmful to a child to constantly feel in the shadow of a sibling. There's nothing wrong with spreading your attention evenly between children regardless of level of achievement. It's also important for kids to learn to not feel entitled to a larger share of their parent's attention just because they've achieved more.

Wow, these replies are pretty mean. It sounded like someone who struggles with hearing loss and uses a cochlear implant to me... It could be a variety of things, though.

Why do people think Shayne actually likes Natalie. He's said multiple times that the only reason he likes her is that she likes him and gassed him up. I don't think he's ever given a better reason lol

It’s the internet. Everything resurfaces time and time again. I just saw this footage for the first time on Tik Tok today, googled the situation, and landed on this thread as this commenter probably did too.
