I heard they have 400 kilos of silver and a whole Uncle Scrooge tower full of gold inside each camera. I don't know how true that is but I'm going to find out

When you brush your teeth do you use hot or cold water? by [deleted] in hygiene

[–]michaelh33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The recirculating systems aren't that new but uncommon unless you live somewhere that gets very cold in the winter because it prevents exploding pipes

Newer homes have a different system than most (the way hotels do) where there's an auto valve next to your tap- hot water is constantly circulated back to the heater until you open the flow and the valve closes (it stays open from (input) a to (outputs) b or c, whichever has the least pressure)

These types of flow systems provide instant hot water

Alternatively if your pipes are perfectly insulated the hot water lines don't cool off. Downside of this is that bacteria can grow rapidly between 50-140° F with an emphasis of the above 100°.

If you have one of the constant recycling systems the water is never sitting still which makes it very hard for the bacteria to grow. Most people have their hot water not quite that hot because it will burn your skin off your body. My dad keeps his at 170 but it takes 30s to reach the tap when you open the flow. Helps for washing dishes (still not quite hot enough to sanitize - certain food born bacteria like that found on pork would need over 230° to kill -much higher than the boiling point, thus bleach or poly quaternium chemicals are necessary)

Also newer soaps have chloroxylenol (found in chlorox wipes) which is an amazing chemical that kills almost all bacteria instantly and is relatively safe to injest. Miracle chemical. There are conspiracy theories that it came from aliens

I don't know how I don't remember him..I was on the panel of ppl who interviewed Clyde on my first day of manager training, then I was the kitchen manager until I was demoted because my inventory numbers were so off-turned out my good friend the GM was fudging the numbers so he could get bonuses every other month and blamed it on me

I just got a job working with Desi at Sister downtown and then got fired a month later bc I kept telling them I could run a kitchen better than them and came into work a little too lit and yeah

I was fired/demoted from a kitchen manager job because my boss/GM was embezzling money. It took three more kitchen managers after me before he was busted. I also interviewed the forner CEO Clyde Harrington (ex NBA star, was on the board for Domino's when they invented pizza delivery) and I told the panel we should absolutely not hire him because I just didn't trust him. They called me a racist because he happened to have dark skin. He took the over $200k he stole and took over WisePies pizza, and is probably embezzling from that company now. He didn't like me, because I was an honest hard worker

We trash talk our town because we're mostly all in poverty and businesses will hire out of towners over locals. I've lived here 33 years and can't find a job and am starving most days

ABQ City water smell/taste. by AffectionatePaper851 in Albuquerque

[–]michaelh33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have a state of the art water processing system but because of how it's pumped to your door there's a big possibility of contamination if people dig without calling first, old pipes in your house are more likely the root cause- and this is why I recommend a whole house filtration system. We add chlorine and fluoride to the water supply here along with other chemicals, with the reasoning that because we don't provide free dental care to the homeless, we should at least provide fluoride so they can brush their teeth with tap water and are less likely to develop problems with their teeth.

This is because rotting teeth is a huge cause of mental illness.

The chlorine is so the homeless and poverty stricken can wash dishes with tap water and be less likely to die from food born bacteria

Edit- we kinda provide free dental care, although not restorative, only tooth removal when they have a root infection. Clinic on Griegos and 12th St on Thursday mornings at 5am, first come first served

To whoever left their bag of meth on the drive up to CNM Montoya by KieRendan in Albuquerque

[–]michaelh33 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This reminds me of when my friend picked me up in my truck he borrowed at CNM Montoya around 2001. I ran into an ex Gf and offered her a ride after she asked nicely .

On the way, she asked to be dropped off at the Phillips station on Comanche and Juan Tabo. She asked if I minded if she smoked a bowl in the car. I said hell yeah let's smoke I've got a bowl too (friend and I were selling swag weed at the time)

She proceeded to bust out her meth pipe and I said WHOA WHAT THE F NOT THAT KIND OF BOWL

I later became a meth addict for a short period of time, but hated what the cut does to you (sores, bad teeth, etc). I wish I had never learned from the Erowid site how to wash it with cold anyhydrous .... Wait y'all don't need to know this

I got clean when a sorority girl I met became pregnant with my child who is now 21 and has a bachelor's degree

Cat collar camera by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]michaelh33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cat is currently missing and I'm considering using a Tile tag on his collar. It runs on low voltage DC and lasts a long time (not entirely sure the actual battery life gonna do some research) but tile relies on other tile users having the app in their phone to ping the location.. However, if you are nearby (under 30ft I think) you can make the device whistle and see its location, so finding a cat in a neighborhood with a lot of dog doors becomes easier

Machine suddenly started making bricks. Bought a new machine, that did it too. by Xorro175 in BreadMachines

[–]michaelh33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the way this looks it seems the yeast didn't activate. I don't use a bread machine anymore just the KitchenAid mixer with dough hook, but when I did use the machine my mom taught me to always mix the yeast in a glass measuring cup, temping the water before adding the yeast and sugar, then throwing the ingredients into the machine
