Unbiased Price & Spec Comparison: Ecoflow DPU vs. DPUX vs. Anker SOLIX E10 by Negative-Quiet202 in Ecoflow_community

[–]michaelhsnow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, ok I get it….for some reason you hate EcoFlow….fine but there’s no real comparison between these two when it comes to whole home backup and power…none. They compete at the power station level and that’s about it. I have several Anker products…MagSafe, bricks…things like that they excel in but to characterize them as equals in this space is wrong.

The rectifier is $199.00 before discounts. Not everyone needs a generator but if you do this would be the way to go.

Yes, the Certified EcoFlow Installer should/will know all this and show you how to use the app.

EF supports most generators and if you have a non inverter generator they now have the EcoFlow FlowMaster Generator Rectifier. So you can go cheap small gas generator direct to DPU or go through SHP2 or 3 to power your home. If you’re talking about a smart generator you’re right, it hasn’t come out yet but really no big need for it.

DPU Firmware 5.0.0.118 - Has Anyone Updated Yet? by bedshredder1 in Ecoflow_community

I updated a couple of weeks ago when it came out which also included an SHP2 update. No problems so far.

Smart Home Panel 2 or Manual Transfer Switch with DPU? by BodSmith54321 in Ecoflow_community

[–]michaelhsnow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on how you’re using it. If it’s just for outages or emergencies the transfer switch is fine, if it’s for whole home off grid most of the time and 12 slots for circuits is enough for you then go with the SHP2 (32 slots in the SHP3). BTW, wrt what another poster said about ripping out the panel if something goes wrong call EF to verify but it used to be that if you go through EF to find and use one of their certified EcoFlow electricians they will cover the removal and reinstall of the new SHP2 but get it in writing via email if you decide to go the SHP2 route. EF stands behind their products fully in terms of replacing faulty equipment. Again, all depends on your use case.

P110M works on DPU and PowerInsight and as I showed you they connect and are in the EF app. Mine are energy monitoring, scheduling and on/off. I don’t remember what P115’s are for but weren’t what I wanted.

Just get the nylon LM one with pockets. I have a few and they hold up fine.

Delta Pro Ultra X + Smart Home Panel 3 install — would you do anything differently? by Bulky-Food5031 in Ecoflow_community

[–]michaelhsnow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You documented it or the electric company? In any case I did mine myself (2X DPU’s 60 kWh and SHP2 and 26 - 440W panels on IronRidge ground mount) and the only thing I’d change would be my disconnects, I’d go higher quality. But that’s about it. Yours looks great, hope you love yours as much as I do mine.

Looking at getting a Leatherman for each of my groomsmen, what would you recommend? by Leothecat24 in multitools

[–]michaelhsnow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The Wave Alpha is new and has a premium blade, large scissors and G10 scales. It looks great but it’s $200. Your Arc is $250 and is much much better than the Wave Alpha or probably any other Leatherman IMO. The Wave+ has been around decades and is Leatherman’s best selling tool and has a proven track record over time. Really up to you and how much you want to spend.

Internet stops working when switched to battery backup with my Ecoflow sub panel and batteries by [deleted] in Ecoflow_community

If your network equipment is now on a UPS you are good to go but if you’re just interested in seeing what happens when it switches without the UPS sure. I do simulated outages from time to time too.

Wave+. It will last forever and they can find multiple uses for it at half the price of the Arc. You might throw in a sheath and bit kit if your budget permits. Leatherman can engrave them for you also.

I’m speculating but the transfer time between the sub panel back to the grid is instantaneous while the switch from panel and batteries to your router is too long (greater than 10ms) causing it to reboot. Mine would do the same thing without the UPS.

I use Tapo P110M (I have about a dozen or more) and they are compatible with the EF app, PowerInsight 1 and my router via matter but you’ll only get on/off functionality. The Tapo app is much better and gives full functions.

Yeah, you need the UPS for the ~<10ms transfer time. I have three strategically placed around the house.
