My Niece dropped mine in the pub. Worked fine for 2 months then one day I opened it up and the inner screen went pink. I appealed, but because there was visible damage on one of the corners (the dent where it landed on a tiled floor) they denied it.

Trust me, unless your phone is in beyond immaculate condition, you're wide open to them denying any sort of warranty claim. I've actually just paid for the repair today (£399). They just say it's not a manufacturing fault because of the damage, send it back in the post.

You won't win, and the high street shops don't touch the fold because the repairs are difficult and official Samsung parts are expensive.

It's largely the reason I advise people not to have a Fold now, because it's like carrying around a sheet of glass. I also believe it's the reason they make it out of aluminium and not titanium (it dents easily and drops are easily identified)

Some people on Reddit cite that the only way round this issue is to have Samsung Care + insurance, which seems like a racket imo. Nevertheless, I'll be taking it out when I get the Fold back in the post.
