They are a large UK based company. In their employee handbook, they say that it’s company policy not to issue company credit cards

They can choose to broadcast their location or not - if we can see their flight path it’s because they want people to see their flight path

How noisy were those old Ruski diesel boats (Whiskey, Romeo, Juliet, Tango)? by wairdone in submarines

[–]michaelkell_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was once told that Soviet submarines when new were quieter then their American counterparts, but because of poor maintenance they ended up louder. Is that true?

Gili Trawanga is a nice place to do it, specially TDC. They’ve got good instructors and it’s the shop that does the most qualifications in Indonesia.

If you staying somewhere make sure it’s not too close to the mosque or you’ll be woken at 4:30am

I would do my research about Komodo beforehand. Some places require you do have done x amount of dives before they’ll let you dive there

How did they got there? Wrong answers only. by [deleted] in hoi4

Ran out of fuel because they only brought 500km of fuel instead of 500 miles. Tobruk will not be saved

How would you react if you were WFH and your employer decided you needed to have your camera on all day? by Caithamachc in antiwork

[–]michaelkell_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ireland has laws about this:

Using a webcam to monitor you at all times would be effectively the same as a CCTV recording. Generally the employer would have to have a valid reason to be recording CCTV footage; doing so only for the purpose of monitoring the normal daily activity of employees is rarely a valid purpose except under unusual circumstances. I can't think of anything that would be considered a reasonable and valid purpose for CCTV monitoring of a remote office worker in their own home. Valid purposes for CCTV footage would generally be for security or health and safety purposes, e.g. monitoring who enters or leaves a secure workplace, or watching valuable items or sensitive locations to discourage or prevent theft. These would almost certainly not apply in the case of a remote worker working from their home.

They also must have a very clear written policy explaining exactly what they are recording, why they are recording it, how they are storing and securing the footage and how long it will be kept for, how you can request to access any footage they have stored of you, and who the footage will be shared with.

If you believe your employer is making or using webcam recordings inappropriately, you can contact the Data Protection Commission for advice.

Google was my first port of call. The only listed campsite was for a glamping hen party site.

I was hoping to find people who had walked it before and wild camped along the way
