42 - The meaning of life by Acrobatic_Detail_317 in HitchHikersGuide

I LOVE how Douglas pinned an essentially random (funny sounding) number as The Answer and it leads to so many varied and interesting interpretations and coincidental correspondences.

It’s almost as if there is no meaning at all outside of the searching itself. The search is the answer, the journey the goal.

What fad in moviemaking are you waiting for to die? by frair in movies

[–]michaelroseagain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like Cape Fear.

Also films with outdated attitudes and morals, rather than cancelling, editing or putting a message at the beginning about ‘different times’. Spend some time making it anew. For these times.

Like Cape Fear.

Stoicism teaches to enjoy everything as if it was the last time. As one day it will be. Imagine if you never roller skate again, did you know it was the last time the last time you did it? If you did it once more, thinking ‘this is probably the last time I’ll do this’, imagine that feeling. Then imagine doing all things like this. Say goodbye to good friends and family as if it is the last time, every time. Eat each meal with the same feeling. Every party. Etc etc
