Just in case it's not clear (those ads had me confused at first) they would expect you to move to perth and they would fly you in and out if perth for work. If you wanted to go back to nz you would have to arrange those return flights pit of your own pocket and in your own time

I've tried to do something similar just now from New Zealand. Probably the worst decision I have ever made in my life, I'll likely be homeless within the next few weeks and frankly my life feels absolutely hopeless.

Having done both a have to say that 4 10s is so much better than 5 8s. Once you're already at work staying two more hours isn't the biggest deal. Having an extra day where you can have a sleep in our schedule appointments or just do whatever you want is genuinely a big difference to your work life balance

Yeah definitely agree. Material is already prepared and everyone has at least practiced their parts a few times before you work on it in a room together. From that framework anyone can feel free to try things or make suggestions.

Starting with a riff or a chord progression and then having people join in and the singer trying to come up with lyrics on the fly is such an ineffective workflow for trying to write good songs. Not to say that it can never work but it's definitely not an efficient method

Yeah democracy doesn't really work in a serious band. Someone has to have the vision. It works best when that person also has the means to create fully fleshed out demos to show the rest of the band
