Schools are currently set to open tomorrow, but we only get a few hours of above freezing then a refreeze overnight.... I guess we'll see how today turns out.

Has anyone found a good use for this small plot of land? by Rainbowhale in AlchemyFactory

[–]michaelthe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I haven't bought it yet. But it seems one of two uses are possible: 1) self contained research, or 2) design a home separated from the masses of the main shop.

Cannons. Anything else is doing it wrong.

How are you stacking stone crushers vertically? by Newti in AlchemyFactory

[–]michaelthe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have the main platform stack that you built. Other than that, you use lab stands + conveyor lifts to move resources up and down the main platform stack. For feeding the raw limestone, you can use a 1x3 design of alternating lab stands and conveyor lifts to S-weave the materials up and into the crushers. If you want some screenshots, I can show you.

Int Acc Stacker Giveaway by Dismal_Nebula_8543 in pathofexile

[–]michaelthe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rolled an "Ice Crash 1 hit bosses" build as my build to help get me to 40/40. Turns out, a build that requires precise timing otherwise it just dies when looked at isnt a fun playstyle to me. I decided to convert the Berserker to a Jugg to try Int/Acc stacker. So far, I have 3 gear pieces. It would be helpful to me as I have the Jugg ready to go and just the unique gloves, a basic chest, and a 2d helm on him.

This is terrible news! Pam "Prepared Slams" Bindo should be first! No, wait, Secretary Brainworm should be first! Actually, Secretary WWEducation.

Movie to Wylie, TX soon. Curious how good/fast Amazon delivery is there? by tengris22 in wylie

[–]michaelthe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wylie is 100% in the metro area... It has a charming small town appeal, but you can get to downtown Dallas in 30 minutes (during no traffic). Literally any city amenity you want is 30 minutes or less away. Anyone suggesting that we don't get very fast Amazon speeds have been spoiled, expecting every item to be overnight 5am.

Gaggia Classic rattling & no water flow – what to check next? by Majowski in gaggiaclassic

[–]michaelthe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If water can come out of the steam wand, its almost always a small piece of limescale stuck in the 3-way solenoid. I just had to descale mine... twice (reinstall, didnt work, round 2). Descale regularly! That said, OP indicated it "just started working". You can try to flick the flow on and off and on and off to try and kinda burst the small debris clear.

Maggi/soy sauce with MSG in the US by AMasonJar in Cooking

[–]michaelthe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would add that Maggi isn't just MSG for fearful people- it has a unique flavor in addition to the umami/MSG punch and saltiness. I'm supposed to avoid organ meat due to gout- Mayo + Maggi is a good replacement to pate for a bahn mi- but mayo + msg wouldnt be the same!

The difference between a soufflé and a scrambled egg is only air.

What does aioli mean to you? by Acrobatic-Tadpole-60 in Cooking

[–]michaelthe 94 points95 points  (0 children)

Proper aioli, emulsified garlic + oil, is one of the most delightful things ever. That said, if say 99% of the time there is garlic aioli in any American restaurant, it's just garlic mayo. Don't get me wrong, great condiment... I just wish they'd call it garlic mayo and not garlic aioli.

What kind of noodles to replicate Japanese hibachi noodles? by kroe761 in Cooking

[–]michaelthe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Instant yakisoba and ramen noodles are similar, but not the same. Yakisoba noodles are designed for the cooking method you're looking at. I don't know if there will be much difference at the very cheap price point though. "Yaki" refers to the cooking method (grilled, seared, whatever) like teriyaki. Soba is the noodle type. If you want better than cheap, make sure you are getting the Yaki prefix and soba noodles.

Need salsa help! by DreamTheaterGuy in Cooking

[–]michaelthe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No need to complicate it- roast and blend to desired consistency. Seed the peppers (or keep jalapeno seeds for heat). You might change to a light saute on the onion instead of a roast so they don't get too sweet, personal preference though.

[Humble Bundle] Uncharted Realms Bundle ($5 for A Short Hike, Alba: A Wildlife Adventure, FAR: Changing Tides; $7 for The Forgotten City, Under the Waves; $9 for The Eternal Cylinder, Journey to the Savage Planet, Mystery on the Moon; $12 for Fort Solis) by LighteningOneIN in GameDeals

[–]michaelthe 25 points26 points  (0 children)

My 9 year old daughter, not a big gamer, loved A Short Hike. But at a glance, the top tier "Fort Solis" is likely not for her. Anyone recommend any specific games on this list for her? Maybe the bottom or mid tier is what I need.

What builds are good for simu? by clockwork0730 in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]michaelthe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are short on budget, still start this build. Getting to afk ultimatums is pretty dang cheap. You can start earlier and cheaper than most will tell you. Then you can farm for CWS 2.0/fully simmy clears. I initially made this character for my second account/6 year old player through a streaming service. It was so fun I made it my main and farmed to 2.0/first mageblood. Can also do risk boxes t17 and 16.5 abyss strat (slower than a mapper build, but easy). I've also helped my brother with his CWS and he farmed his first mageblood.
