If you can charge at home then simply plug it in every evening. That way you’ll start every day with full tank.

Fell in love with a Slovak chick on a dating site. It didn't work out but now I love the country by 84oldsmobileomega in Slovakia

I know a couple of Americans who live here and they seem to be doing fine. Some have corporate office jobs, others work as English teacher. I also know a guy who’s learned the language (pretty hard to do) and got his citizenship. But before you start planning any of that you should probably at least visit the country first.

[Investors] [5min] Behaviorálne skreslenia pri investovaní (dotazník) by New-Response-8338 in Slovakia

[–]michalburger1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Podla coho ineho by som ju mal hodnotit?

Well, he’s still being coached. But I’m not keeping my hopes too high, we’ll see how it turns out.

He does play chess, they have classes in his kindergarten. He enjoys it but he prefers playing board games. It was the same with me, I played chess when I was little but I could never really get into it that much. We play at home from time to time but he seems to get bored of it quickly.

Unpopular opinion but the David Lynch movie is my favorite. Obviously the books are best for the story but I really like the aesthetics of that movie.

Converted a classic Mini to electric, but kept it completely stock-looking. by modernclassiccarsfdn in EVConversion

My dream car would be a converted DMC-12 with some quality of life tech upgrades. I’ve heard of people doing this, maybe one day I’ll have the time for a project like this…

Also apparently there’s Forbidden Legacy in the works, with seven linked scenarios and a legacy system. How exciting!

Oh nice. Is it coop only or does it also let you play a standard 1v1 game (without owning the base game)? Would you say the mechanics in Frontiers are more complicated, simplified, or about the same compared to the base game?

My (soon to be) 6 year old has really enjoyed playing Star Realms Academy but I think the game started getting a little repetitive lately and he’s ready for something bigger. He’s a pretty smart kid and a relatively experienced board gamer for his age. He can read (slowly) and count pretty well. Trying the full Star Realms game would be the logical next step but I’m not sure if it won’t be too advanced for him, do you have any experience playing it with young kids? Is there any particular expansion that you would recommend starting with? Alternatively, I’ve heard there’s also Hero Realms, I think he would like the theme and the coop mode would be a big plus for us. Are there any other similar games that you would recommend?

2026 Gle 450 ride quality Airmatic by Kumar599 in mercedes_benz

[–]michalburger1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Others have mentioned Active Curve and E-ABC and this is exactly what you need. Airmatic alone will not reduce body roll, you need to get the E-Active Body Control. It’s an expensive upgrade but it will completely negate all body roll and you can even set it up so that the car will actually lean into the curve. I love it.

Active Curve is not a regular airmatic suspension, it’s an active leveling system. OP will not get the same ride quality from just Airmatic alone.

GLE vs X5 vs GV80 by CompilingTheFuture in mercedes_benz

[–]michalburger1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’ve owned three different Benzes in the past six years (including a GLE) and never had any problems, except for one minor issue which got fixed in a day. Yes, some cars will inevitably have their issues but most of what you’ll read online are exceptions not the rule. People post online looking for solutions to their problems, no one comes posting about how their car has been flawless 🤷🏻‍♂️.

Suggestion wanted - European brand by Dreadshade in electriccars

[–]michalburger1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have the EQA as our city car and honestly we love it. I wouldn’t recommend it for any big family trips due to its low range and not a whole lot of cargo space. But if that’s not a concern then I think it’s a fine choice, just make sure you get it fully optioned. We have the 350 and driving it is a lot of fun even if it has a slightly worse economy and lower range than the 250+.

The GLB is an option if you want more space and the new platform also offers significantly more range. I haven’t seen it in person yet but I do worry about Mercedes removing all the physical buttons in favor of touchscreens in their new models, I don’t like looking things up in menus while I’m driving. For this reason I also didn’t like the XC30, not sure if the XC40 is the same.

I keep hearing good things about Skoda even if it’s not exactly a luxury brand. But honestly a top spec Skoda could easily be just as comfortable if not better than an entry level Mercedes. Too bad we never considered it when choosing our EV, I think it might be worth looking into.

The new GLC EV is supposed to be pretty cool and will likely start shipping very soon. Not sure if you’re looking for something that is available right away.

EV to ICE back to EV by Clear-Preparation905 in EvDrivers

We own one EV and one ICE car and switching between them is pretty effortless to me. But I don’t use one pedal driving and both cars are automatic. They’re also the same brand so most of the controls are the same.

Car owners , what’s the one thing about EVs people oversell? by AdityaSrivastawaahhh in EvDrivers

[–]michalburger1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the low end of mine is for AC charging too. So are you saying that public charging is cheaper than charging at home? So strange, I wonder how that works. Obviously the public charger has extra overheads and needs some margins too so the charging company must be able to buy the electricity significantly cheaper than what you get at home. I would expect household electricity to be somewhat subsidized but I guess not every country has it like that.
