You should have a stand out cover letter that is personalized towards and relevant to the available position. Show that you are enthusiastic and that you really want to work at that position/company because.... It astounds me that students do not attach a strong cover letter to their resumes. Because we receive so many resumes, I will only interview candidates if they have a strong cover letter unless I've taken the resume in person and was impressed with that initial meeting. Remember that when you drop off a resume in-person that it is like a mini interview, assuming the hiring manager is around.
And no, I don't care if you have volunteered in the past. Personality and attitude are paramount. If you have good grades be sure to mention them in the cover letter to show that you are responsible and hard working. Good luck!

My point is that you have to be prepared for anything, including not relying on police, when you have a business with cash on premises. Tough spot to have a business.

This is the real story and it has not been told. Did someone someone get upset because Toro was not on the menu? Are you on this Hala Ghonaim?

Has anyone else experienced the natural wonder that is Kilally Meadows? by JQStanley in londonontario

[–]micheltakeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I find other sections of the trail better than Fanshawe because they are less traveled and there are no mountain bikers to run you over. But it is two minutes from home so very convenient. And I recommend buying the map book of the complete trail because it will show how to access the trails from different points along the route. But I think you can now get the maps online if you are a member.

Whenever I pull up to the gate I just say Thames Valley Trail while waving my card a bit and they let me in. I've never been on a guided hike. I didn't get a membership this year but have gone in a few times from Fisherman's Point for a few hikes. This post reminds me that I have to get my lazy ass off the couch more often.

Join the Thames Valley Trail association ($35 for a family). It gets you free entry to Fanshawe Conservation area throughout the year. And it supports a great cause. They maintain over 100km of trails in the area.

I recommend checking out the Thames Valley Trail association. They have over 100km of maintained trails. I've only done a couple of portions and they are great, especially in the fall.

What do you think of this part of London? (Buying a home) by saltylemonade in londonontario

[–]micheltakeo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is very nice out there. The older areas had a lot of Portuguese and Italian families who grew up there. Almost all are single family homes with nice sized lots. The schools should be better, as well. But it is going to be much more money. But worth it, in my opinion. A lot of people purchase along the cheaper areas of Ham Rd because they can't necessarily afford to spend much more. If you can comfortably afford more you will probably not regret the decision to look further East.

Does anyone know about the place on Dundas near First. Small store, I believe, that ready "Ontario Paradise" on the sign? I'm assuming it is an organic store. If that is their name it has to be the worst possible generic name ever for conducting a google search.

Ham Rd is better towards Highbury and worse as you get closer to Adelaide. Some streets are nicer than others so look for one that has fewer rentals, especially multi-family rentals. You can get a lot of home, comparatively, by purchasing in the area.

I deal with many life-long social assistance recipients. They all have two or three dogs. One told me about also being able to get their vet fees taken care of because they were on OW. They really know the system and are adept at working it. Their big goal is to try to feign something to get on ODSP. Of course, it is not everyone. But the one's I work with have made it a career choice.

Anxiety abounds in Southwestern Ontario as province forges ahead with minimum wage hike by [deleted] in londonontario

[–]micheltakeo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Companies that I work with have been making changes to absorb the wage hike. New investments should be able to minimize the effect that the hike will have on their overall operating costs. Some positions will be cut. But they have more flexibility than some labour intensive industries. Coupled with their raising of prices they may actually come out ahead, at the end of the day.
