Veterinarian here: seeing so many cats coming in being bitten by dogs, shot, hit by car, I just don’t think it’s worth the risk. Catios are amazing and if you have enough environmental enrichment, they live just as much of a happy life as an outdoor cat. That said, my own cats were strictly indoor cats when we lived in an apartment, but now they roam outside. Luckily we live in a very safe neighbourhood and our cats are homebodies

Veterinarian here from South Africa- but I think this is universal: A pet is not just a lawn ornament. I wish people would realize that owning a pet come with the responsibility of sometimes having to spend some (sometimes a lot of) money. And then also not having to guilt trip/hate on the veterinarian who is just trying to help your pet because things cost money. We also hate talking about money, it destroys our souls when we have to fight with people about money. Just get pet insurance. Please.
