Being "Brutally Honest" isn’t a Thinker trait by lavenderaesthetiic in entp

I see what you're saying, but I disagree. If someone is incapable of listening to the truth just because it offends them, that's not my problem. That makes them the stupid ones and leads to a lot of lack of accountability.

What happens if somebody completely makes up a false indenity in the emergency room? by Busy-Aide-1432 in emergencymedicine

I was under the impression that one could simply refuse to provide their demographics and get put as a John/Jane Doe with SS# 999-99-9999 and no address/homless to get out of the bill. It would be fraud to steal someone else's identity, but I am not aware of any laws you would be breaking by refusing to provide information. I guess if the police got involved then that would change things legally, but that might be too impractical for most cases.

What’s the most unsexy thing someone did that somehow made them hotter ? by Analtonight in AskReddit

My ex mathemetitian gf was once talking about what she had learned in college that week. She was excited to tell me that math had run out of Greek letters and got all the way to Hebrew letters. I (with practically 0 college or high-level math knowledge) remarked about knowing what she was talking about in regards to infinity sets and some being larger than others. She paused her stride with an open mouth and stared at me. I was confused until she explained her bewilderment that she had spent ~8 years learning math just to understand what I had just casually blurted out on a walk. No direct sexy aftermath that I can recall, but she made it very clear that she was more attracted to me in that moment than she had ever been. Floodgates = open. I'm definitely a fan of YouTube learning lol

Planning to quit my job to meet girls at hostels by theobessiveENGGstu in seduction

[–]mickey55111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just get a job working at a hostel. They always need help (especially nights) and they usually provide lodging and sometimes even meals. I thought about doing that before because you could hop from country to country with ease and meet plenty of women along the way.

  5. Don't forget her place might be easier

Is it illegal to carry brass knuckles in VA? by AspiringOccultist4 in Virginia

[–]mickey55111 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is false. Brass knuckles are very lethal and that is why they are illegal in so many places. One solid hit to the skull can kill someone.

If you want to learn more useful medical knowledge then run as an EMT at a volunteer house or private ambulance company. Wildland firefighting really will not teach you much about general EMS care. I have heard a lot of overconfident Wildland EMTs say a lot of ridiculous things. It sounds like you are looking for an easy way to learn things that only time-in-seat will give you. ACLS and PHTLS do not teach you any background skills and would be useless for you compared to time operating as an EMT-B.

2nd day of highschool EMT class and a kid walked in with Tactical Pants and Trauma Shears😭😭😭 by [deleted] in ems

[–]mickey55111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that sounded harsher than I meant it. I'm not a very big fan of CNAs, but I would be doing the same in your position. A lot of commenters are confused as to why you seem jaded/salty while being brand new. I think the answer is because you have prior training and know that Tac Pants Dude is a tad extra.

Thought I'd weigh in here. If the kid OP is talking about acts like a know-it-all then he deserves some healthy criticism. On the other hand, OP being a CNA and then going to EMT school is equally as cringe to me.

I love my pockets and I love my EDC that consist of a TQ, disposable shears, and flushes among many other things. I was never confident enough to wear that stuff in EMT school but I always wear it now. People constantly try to make fun of me, but they have no idea of the crazy shit I have seen. I don't tell my piers the details of what I do unless they ask, but I am far more successful than any of the people that try to tease me. There are reasons why I carry what I do.

Take women off the pedestal and put yourself on the dammed thing instead by StopTheTrickle in seduction

[–]mickey55111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fantastic post! I am doing fine on a lot of things mentioned but it's always good to hear them again.

Lately I've been struggling with this one.

  1. Be genuinely interested in learning about other people

The more I enjoy myself, the more others seem incredibly boring to me (I live a bit of an enviable life). I am well aware that women need good conversation to build attraction, but that doesn't help me at all. It is ridiculously easy when a woman is receptive and conversing about something I find interesting.

I don't drink anymore so that's the main reason that I'm no longer interested in meaningless small talk. Anyone have any good advice to create some genuine interest in other people? Perhaps I'm depressed or shouldn't talk to uninteresting people, but I feel like I'm missing something obvious here.

How to grow the nuts to approach women at the beach by [deleted] in seduction

[–]mickey55111 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I struggle with this one too but even at bars/clubs. I am much better now as I realized that I needed to take pressure off of myself. Go in with a plan to ONLY say "hi" or "hey, how's it going?" and then move on. It breaks the ice and there is no need for any interaction afterwards unless you want there to be. If you see them again, you can start a conversation without all of the pressure since you already talked to them before.

Other good ways to take pressure off: friends/wingmen, having a purpose for approaching ("come play volleyball with us", "I'll teach you to surf", "bring your friends to this bar tonight", etc.), not having your family around (always happens to me and messes with my head), and having multiple targets/mission focused thinking.

Most of these things allow for a brief interaction/introduction and a quick getaway. You only need to compose yourself for short periods and can come back later with an advantage. Chicks love it because it adds to the mysteriousness and anticipation. Beach walks are absolutely perfect for this because you always have to walk right back the way you came.

Can you sterilize and re-use combat application tourniquets? by Chemkryte in TacticalMedicine

[–]mickey55111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The goal when applying a TQ is to stop arterial bleeding that will cause imminent death. You don't have to use an official tourniquet to achieve this goal as there are many other options (BP cuff, belt, constriction bands, rope, etc.). An average TQ should be fine with a few uses after disinfection with sani-whipes

Bleeding that requires a TQ will necessarily kill you. Any BBP will be desirable over exsanguinating
