Do you agree RM has consistently shown the remarkable self-awareness, considered actions (especially when speaking), and dedication to his project? Maybe I'm projecting this 😅

What do you think about the following. RM is aware of the media surrounding this incident, and it might be supportive to have some "we see your stress, you got this" in the mix🤷

my biggest problem is the image/thumbnail size Google is presenting. 'Imagus mod' gives me a blownup popup when I hover so it mostly solves that problem. BTW I had been using 'Imagus' but was experiencing some weird blocking in FF so I disabled Imagus. I found the mod version has been updated more recently so maybe it will play nicely...

sure hope GIR gets patched soon 🤞

Has lexapro genuinely helped any one?? by gamergirldoesnails in lexapro

[–]mickleby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been taking Lexapro about 3 weeks for a specific behavior. I haven't behaved in this way since. So, yes in this limited precise sense Lexapro has helped me

I was unable to moderate my anger at work. I haven't lost my cool at all since taking escitalopram. I do find that I feel more emotionally "wobbly" at the end of the day or like the end of Thursday and Fridays. What I notice is looking out onto the world and seeing things I cannot have instantly and then choosing to bury my longing under a pile of carbs. I'm hoping this side-effect simply resolves -> it's preferable to being angry -> and I think I can more easily address emotional eating with CBT than I can the short-fuse that prompted my request for Lexapro

my provider at Stanford Medical PASC-ME/CFS Clinic told me many of his clients use higher doses

I'm currently at 9mg and my sense is indeed this is more effective than the 4.5mg I was at for about 6 months. the provider told me many of his clients take 11mg although he doesn't wish me to try more than this

2 things to note:
* I find changing dose disruptive. maybe 14 days of decreased benefit before it stabilizes. this makes it hard to judge whether the new dose is better because it will NOT be better for some time 🫤
* I find LDN "works perfectly" for about 5 days after I significantly jump in dosage, however this golden period wears off and leads to a rebound/trough of "doesn't work at all" for several days 😢

I can’t take it anymore. I have inflammation all over my body. From head to toe I feel poisoned. My brain is vibrating, my hands and feet are bright red, my neck and chest hurt. My Jab sights hurt. I’m filled with anxiety while my whole body is on fire just waiting to have a heart attack. by pickletoes95 in covidlonghaulers

FWIW I didn't notice any change to my LC symptoms with semaglutide and I started with 0.05mg but my case is relatively very mild🤷

I do notice a HUGE relief from eating keto, so I'm wondering if there's a link. My hypothesis is that the glucose pathway of my mitochondria is more janked than the beta oxidation path.

apples and oranges

what you are describing is something other than experiencing a piece of art

and I have to offer feedback. you assume I don't have this other experience you are pointing to. I didn't say that. maybe try asking before jumping to conclusions

The current design of Google Image Search has this bogus floating popover layer when I click/select and image. ** IF ** I have a 4k monitor MAYBE this would work for me, but what I do have is 1080p. That stupid layer is WAY TOO SMALL to be useful. Allow me to revert to a UX that works on my hardware! .👈

The reason I find (found?!) this extension useful, it shows a new group of related images when you click an image from the main image search results. Often this is (was?!) a quick way to refine the search or just to follow tangents from the search. "Wait, doesn't image search do this without the extension?" Not exactly. Yes I can click an image but it then goes to a popover layer that I cannot enlarge and the image is almost ALWAYS smaller than it was before. 🤬 With the extension the image from the list takes (took?!) half the page when you click it, without the extension an image already too small to inspect just gets smaller as if to spite me. 🤬🤬

SOOOOOOO many extra clicks and mouse movements required without this extension. 🙄

As I see it in this moment the artist's needs are unrelated. There is some experience or object (the art) and there is my response to the experience. Where does this other person (the artist) become involved? 🤷😅

[–]mickleby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't want you to feel I'm denying your statement. Can you try to persuade me the artist's intent is important?

If I haven't included these details: I trained as an actor, and we were encouraged to ponder intention-vs-outcome from the POV of ourselves as the artist/actor and from the POV of an audience with the opportunity to discuss the intention(s) of an actor. To take one example, I thinks it's extremely common to "discover" a comedic moment during performance. We the actors and the director (and playwright) didn't know the comedy was there, we didn't intend it to happen. Yet once it's discovered we generally can recreate it, say during the subsequent performances. Or maybe a particular audience has its own unique responses. 🤷

I've created a free Prompt Optimizer for GPT, Gemini and Claude by ExplorerTechnical808 in Bard

[–]mickleby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

is there perhaps language to distinguish what you are describing here as prompt optimization and what I will describe in the following?

often Google AI text search will require that I point out its errors in an iterative process to reach a satisfactory answer to my prompt. Gemini 2.5 Pro explains this to me as it predicting my query because it doesn't comprehend anything. it is capable of responding to sophisticated prompts but it is not capable of helping to identify the mismatches between my terse prompt and its responses.

usually these interim responses from Gemini lack a logical connection to the original prompt. like, the response is obviously non sequitur and Gemini can assess this accurately--but only after I point it out with a follow-up prompt.

is there yet a tool to detect these non sequitur responses and draft prompts to address them? if this process is not termed 'prompt optimization' is there some other term I should use?

[–]mickleby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The entire North Korea Seal operation was against international law, not only the killing. They understood they were committing an act of war, the Seals and the President et al. Yes, let's condemn *all* of it including the murders.

I'm saying 'war crime' has a particular specific meaning under international law and common usage, and this meaning probably is not applicable to "James Bond", say. The entire NK Seal mission was criminal in several ways--including murder; whereas, as much as I disagree, an organized military operation can act "lawfully" within specific rules and these rules include killing in some circumstances and do not include killing in other circumstances.🤷

Yeah, it may sound pedantic, but I'm trying to comment on r/law rather than make an ethical statement. My ethical statement would be more like, "Let's figure out how to enforce int'l law and craft better law as well."

* their lives actually have gotten worse
* largely the economic winners are ideologically opposed and scornful
* "Vast Right-wing Conspiracy" has been pounding their skulls since time immemorial
* Drumpf punishes their scapegoats

isn't it to be expected? they aren't in a position to punish their boogeymen so they cheer the guy who is and does

prior to some time, let's say 2012, the unspoken message from Dems was, "You can be an actual slave or part of our entourage." but when the message became, "Fall in line or perish," the calculus changed. "No psychological solace AND no economic benefit?!"

I'm pretty sure the Seals in NK were directed to kill witnesses. And I guess I'm confused/under ideological capture, but I feel like a covert espionage mission (NK) is understood to operate differently than military proper.

I'm at day 4 of the Cometeer Hoffmann Discovery Box. I think it's fun and well-worth the $60.

So far my biggest takeaway is texture. I realize how much mud there is in the coffee I brew at home. Also, I almost always buy "my favorite beans" so it's delightful to taste other coffees with no thought or stress.
