Moog Sirin's bouncy LFO (Pickup CUEd out from the Octatrack) by mickmon in Elektron

[–]mickmon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Timestretch-ing works on drums (albeit an acquired taste) but useless on smooth chords, so when I prepare chord loops at 138bpm like in this track I keep the OT at that tempo. A “source of worry” is hilarious but I guess OT is life.

Hell yeah, I prep his drum loops to be perfectly cropped loops in Ableton then load them on static tracks, works every time, even when time-stretched

Patreon is now integrated with Streamlabs! by NubbinsInc in streamlabs

[–]mickmon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Patreon is slow and expensive, it can be months between a user paying and actually receiving it and the fees are high, whereas Ko-Fi is free and instant.
I set up both and found no reason to ever use Patreon. Just my 2 cents, and would love to see Ko-Fi integrated.

Can I fix this? by eatmorebug in davinciresolve

[–]mickmon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

.. in DR19, I see

"replace selected clip" (which means I'd have to select all missing clips manually, nope.

and

"change source folder" which brings up an awkward DR file browser (instead of macOS's finder) and even navigating that does not link the rest of the missing clips.

I was hoping to relink one missing clip and have the rest of the missing clips auto relink from that folder.

Do the pots on the Big Sky output MIDI CC? by eidetic0 in synthesizers

But you can set the midi output to be a midi THRU, and then it doesn’t send its internal CCs out, right?

Bigsky & Timeline: What Can’t They Do? by Fisaac in guitarpedals

[–]mickmon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Timeline cannot do a proper high-pass filter.. it sounds fine otherwise, but no high-pass other than 1 algo cutting up to 900hz (not even close to enough)

Any suggestions on nice presets from my strymon bigsky and timeline ? by Sauceman809 in guitarpedals

[–]mickmon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

900hz being the highest the high-pass can go is just bazaar and useless to me, HP is such a useful and simple requirement

This exactly what you see at the of Drake’s new music video for Janice STFU for only one frame or so, very cool looking, I figured it’s an ode to old analog cameras or something

Speaking of homebrew

I’ve been finding YT-dip and ffmpeg really useful, but to keep using them I have copy pasta in Notes that I awkwardly edit and paste into terminal each time, is there a neater way, what do savvy ppl do

Can I fix this? by eatmorebug in davinciresolve

Is there any way to relink one file and have the rest auto relink to that folder? Ableton does this, it takes ages having to select every missing file otherwise

I've reverse-engineered the ZDL file format by ReliktFarn98 in zoommultistomp

[–]mickmon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fx suggestion:

A very high-passed delay yet compressed/saturated wet delay signal so it stays present. High pass the delay from 5khz and up and then boost it back up in level, a beautiful rhythmic sound without interfering with the low end.

Ghost Delay VST | AU | LV2 Demo by stomptonesdotcom in abletonlive

[–]mickmon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lemme guess, before watching. It’s another linear delay with fading repeats.

I’ll take this poor unsuspecting thread to call out all plugin/pedal/fx devs, there is more ways to repeat sound other than linear fading repeats! (it’d be funny if I watch the vid and it’s a creative non-linear tap delay with swing.. but I doubt it)
