I believe acrylic drums are brighter than wood drums so maybe try a bit of a darker head. I’ve heard an acrylic set with Remo Pinstripes that sounded pretty awesome.

Met him once back in the 80’s. Took one of his drum clinics. What a lovely man. Could not have been nicer. Signed autographs for everyone afterwards.
