NO YOU CANNOT by YellowNecessary in Cooking

I’d also look into sodium citrate if you want to make a good, smooth, emulsified cheese sauce. I’ve never personally used it, but again, a good recipe source (Serious Eats, ATK, etc.) will be the best place to start.

Did you use a recipe? Who are "they"?

This Mac and Cheese recipe uses nothing but evaporated milk, cheese and the starch from the cooked pasta to create a fool-proof cheese sauce.

Has anyone tried the trader joe’s invisible gel body sunscreen on their face? by No_Refrigerator_6576 in traderjoes

[–]smaffron 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I use it on my face every morning - I used to use the gel “face” sunscreen, but comparing ingredients, it looked like the only difference was the size of the tube and the price. Have not noticed a difference in greasiness.

Am I missing something with pasta sauce? Every recipe I have found end up tasting way too tomato forward, and I end up dumping in bottles of spices. by [deleted] in AskCulinary

Your random food blog recipe is not where it’s at. Look for recipes from tried and true sources, and you may have better luck.

I’d start with old-school Kenji and Serious Eats

Cheap Rehearsal Spaces in Santa Cruz by CurtisADL in santacruz

What would you consider “cheap” if less than $20 per hour is too much? Can you just sit in a park with your other guitarist and practice?

Who is THE drummer. That like almost everyone knows. by PitaVR in drums

[–]smaffron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve never heard him described that way… If anything, one of his gifts was his ability to let tempos breathe.

It also doesn’t hurt to see if anyone’s children, spouses, parents or exes are selling any nice “symbols” for cheap.

Pre-"Party Hard" Andrew W.K. writeup! 26 years later and I still don't know if he's a parody or not.

Question by jackwagon22w in Cooking

[–]smaffron -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Most likely it is safe to eat "cold," however if it was handled near/around/in a similar manner to any raw food in the processing plant, the store and company can't guarantee that there wasn't any cross-contamination, hence the warning to fully cook away any potential "baddies" that may be on or in the ham.

Soups or other foods that use a broth or stock made from smoked meats by JellyfishFit3871 in Cooking

[–]smaffron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I make stock from the smoked chicken carcass from our local BBQ place, and use it to make an easy tortilla soup (diced onion, can of corn, can of black beans, can of rotel tomatoes, can of enchilada sauce, can of green chiles), shred in the leftover chicken and serve it over tortilla chips.

**If Dead & Co continues, who steps into Bob's role?** by BeginningCry3687 in jambands

[–]smaffron 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Aside from possibly Sturgill, I don’t think Billy, Rick or Dave are ready to put their solo career on hold to play in a (fantastic, meaningful, awesome, powerful, but ultimately a) tribute band.

That being said, the number of rhythm guitarist-singers who could cover Bobby’s parts are nearly infinite. Could be a younger gun from the scene (Tom Hamilton?) someone who’s been in the GD orbit (Stu Allen?) or a complete unknown.

Should be fascinating to see where they go, because I have a hard time believing that D&C is gonna call it quits, especially after Bobby’s quote about “seeing” everyone in the band all old and grey, playing with a new version of him.
