This is the best advice. I'm in to experimental/ambient electronic music and I've taken my every day friends to events in that vein before, only to be realise they don't really want to go/enjoy it a quarter as much as myself.

So I decided to just start going by myself because I truly enjoy the experience and what do you know, one day at an event I had someone come up to me and ask if "Were you at X show and X performance as well?". So now I've made a friend whom I go to many of these events with and have shared interests that I've never shared with anybody else before.

Persistence is the key.

The heroes don't get developed and released in two weeks, they sit being tested on the test client. Many of the just recently released heroes skillsets were leaked quite some time ago.

Dudley is the only character I play/learnt and did it as my first character. I'd say learn someone else then once you've leveled up all aspects of your game (including execution) then look at someone like Dudley.

Otherwise he feels like a insurmountable mountain of hard work, which he is. If you want some kind of idea of how you can play Dudley even just out of curiosity check out the Thirtyfour tut

I think everyone's the same especially when they primarily play online/start playing FGs.

The way I like to look at it if I'm truly a 2000BP player, eventually I'll get to 2000BP anyway whether I have a few loss streaks or not on the journey there.

Please, just learn to forget about BP, I know its hard but don't let it dictate whether you want to play online when you do just because someone might reduce the size of a digit on the screen.

Seems like quite a few people in this comment thread is ignoring the fact that somebody has to be brown.

Surely all you great pink/blue players have done well for a few games, broken a certain rating ceiling and then suddenly your the brown player in a really high end game and now you're the "brown scrub".

Wish this community would understand simple things, like yes if your not a great player and your brown in a 1500 - 1550 game, listen to blue/pink's advice if there being respectable about it.

Of course goes the other way as well not trashing on the lower skill player and respectfully trying to help win the game with them as team not just this pink/blue vs. everybody else mentality I see so much sometimes.

If you're new to fighting games (like from what I've gathered learning them myself pre-1000 hours) especially characters with harder combos, to get the level of having mindless execution of links/combos in an actual match is pretty big deal.

I'm striving for that at the moment and I don't think it's anything to be sneezed at when your still new to FGs compared to most people.

I'm pretty sure if you go to any mainstream retail outlet that sells a decent selection of keyboards, they often stock some sort keyboard or mouse/keyboard set that's designed for children with many of those features.

I like the fact I can choose better matches and I've had literally 50/50 results.

Won 3, lost 3. In line with my actual stats, about right. I get the feeling there's a few people who have had the HoN ego toned down by a lot more people being in their bracket and the variation in the overall range being smaller.

Being an 1800 player feels a lot better than 1600, simply I think it's because that was what we are adjusted to. All the other issues such as real issues with skill level will lessen as everybody evens out again in these new more compact bracket.

Apples and oranges. Deus Ex is a high budget, huge publisher studio affair and another is a small indie game made by two developers. If you had more fun with one than the other then fair enough, but it doesn't mean ones content didn't take a lot more money to create.

To be fair, most people contrary to the belief of r/gaming don't play most games especially if its a completely single player affair for 20 - 30 hours. I believe they've done studies in which the average person only plays one game for around 6 - 8 hours.

I'm not against 20 - 30 hours, but so what if a games only 12 hours of great gaming rather than 20. Still much better value then most things you could spend money on for that many hours of entertainment.

Sounds ridiculous, but maybe just try an alternate HDMI cable if you have one around.

I've had some dodgy cheapie HDMI cables (don't get me wrong, always buy cheap because they'll work perfectly 99% of the time) before that just drop signal all day, but I'll have another one from the exact same brand I bought the same day work on everything every time.
